Renon's new cable car opened on May 23, 2009, offering a whole bunch of fantastic advantages for vacationers and local commuters alike: a generous schedule, short travel time and easy access. It's a true gem. It only takes 12 minutes for the gondolas to move from Bozen/Bolzano to Oberbozen/Soprabolzano - they depart every 4 minutes, so there's practically no waiting time.

Stunning Ride

Modern, clean, smooth cable car with amazing views. Good value if combined with the railway too. Runs every 4 minutes and takes 12 mins in total.

Also known as the Rittner Seilbahn, these gondolas whisk you along the 4.5km and almost 1000m height difference in 11 or 12 minutes. They run very frequently and at 10EUR for a round- trip fare, it's a bargain, worth a round trip if you are pressed for time, even if you do not get off in Oberbozen. If you do... More

We went on a clear day and the view was spectacular!! Highly recommend the combo ticket that allows you to take the train once up in the mountain. We took the train for more awesome views, got off at the last station for a walk and lunch. The staff at the cable car station in Bolzano is knowledgeable and makes... More

We had no idea what to expect. The ride was fantastic and the views were breathtaking! We even took the little train at the top before returning to Bolzano. This is a must-do experience if you're in Bolzano.

Best value excursion ever!! The ride was smooth and scenic and included a train ride to neighbouring mountain top villages which were so quaint and picturesque. Several places to hike or stroll. Lovely shops and cafes. Next time i will pack a picnic, would have been nice to sit on a blanket and eat al fresco.

Be warned. We checked as many resources as we could prior to booking this trip and everything we found stated that this was open year-round. Unfortunately it is not. I feel like we really missed out! Trying to figure out a bus option now...

"Funivia del Renon" its a very important place in Bolzano. It connect the city centre with the mountains in just 12 minutes. It is also possible to bring a Bike in the Funivia and this is something really important for sport people. I RECOMMEND IT

Impressive views and once you are up, there is a big choice of routes to do. We went a bit more up and did the Panorama Route, amazing!
