Renon's new cable car opened on May 23, 2009, offering a whole bunch of fantastic advantages for vacationers and local commuters alike: a generous schedule, short travel time and easy access. It's a true gem. It only takes 12 minutes for the gondolas to move from Bozen/Bolzano to Oberbozen/Soprabolzano - they depart every 4 minutes, so there's practically no waiting time.

Be warned. We checked as many resources as we could prior to booking this trip and everything we found stated that this was open year-round. Unfortunately it is not. I feel like we really missed out! Trying to figure out a bus option now...

Impressive views and once you are up, there is a big choice of routes to do. We went a bit more up and did the Panorama Route, amazing!

The fastest way to go from Bozen to Oberbozen. During the ride you can enjoy pleasant views over Bozen, the hillside, the Rosengarten, and some earth pyramids. The ride takes 12 minutes and is comfortable. The upper station is directly in the Center of Oberbozen. The valley station is approx. a 10min walk from the train station.

A most wonderful experience . My wife and I took the cable car and train trip on a postcard perfect day. Your journey starts at a modern circular looking building near the railway station at Bolzano. The scenery throughout the ride is stunning with snow on some mountains and the Dolomites looking awesome. You can take walks or simply have... More

We bought the combined ticket with the narrow gauge railway. It was a good experience. Once at the top you can choose from a number of trails, depending on how much time you want to spend and how serious you are about hiking.

There is a map in English at the top with instructions on the trail numbers and length of the hike. Very accurate. Beautiful hike and relatively flat.
