Nicely done - fascinating displays on European Early Man

Nice exhibits on wildlife, but not much signage in anything but Italian and German. If you enjoy hiking in nature, it's an OK introduction before heading into the Dolomites.

If ;you've ever heard of Otzi, the mummified ancient European man found about 30 years ago in the Alps, this museum is mainly about him. The displays are very nice, unusual and the subjects interesting. You don't need to read Italian or German. Conveniently located downtown where there are lots of nice stores, restaurants and the big outdoor market.

Several of the reviews that I read said that this was the museum that housed Orti the 5000 year old ice man, but it is not. This is a natural history museum that tells all about the rocks, and mountains, and animals of the region. It's a great place to take children for an afternoon as it has several interactive... More

The museum is centrally located. it is a unique experience and must see. The museum is built upon one display namely the ice man and a lot of documentation on it but still worth visiting as you don't have anything as old anywhere else.

This is mainly a childrens museum. It focuses on wildlife and alpine geology. It is somewhat small but really very charming. They have an excellent, huge ant farm which I could have spend hours examining. There is also a small gift shop. The ladies at the ticketing are are very nice, friendly and helpful. It takes about 45 minutes to... More

OK so we have to admit that we came into this museum to wait out the rain. It was the first day of our bike tour from Bolzano to (eventually, as in 5 days later) Verona, and the rain had just started to pour, so we sought shelter in the warmth of the museum. We ended up having a great... More
