An unusual concept museum focussed on the history of tourism in the South Tyrol, which apparently has a staggering 8 million tourist a year. Very nicely done with a range of exhibits. And there is also some original rooms from the time the tragic Empress Elizabeth of Austria was a regular visitor. Coupled with the attached gardens you can spend a very happy half-day here. It's a joint ticket you can buy on line. Easy parking. Recommended.

Definitely worth a visit! A lot of interesting facts about Tourism and its history. We combined the tour with the visit to Trautmansdorff Garden.

This attraction is linked to the gardens. It is very nicely made, and certainly worth a visit. Various aspects of the development of tourism in the area are presented in a chronological and pleasant way. The whole thing is in a superb castle. Excellent

This is a free to enter museum (once you have paid to enter the castle grounds) and well worth a visit of an hour or so to learn about the history of tourism in the Dolomite area.

Nice exhibit to go along with the rest of the museum, castle and gardens. I'd spent most of the day just checking it all out. Very nice destination.

When in the botanical gardens you must visit this museum. It recounts the history of the passes over the mountains. Definitely worth visiting.

Relevant for anyone who likes going up/down mountain passes. There is a lift - actually it's one lift and then a second lift, but it all works well.

I wasn't expecting much from the cringily named museum in the castle at the famous gardens, but it was extremely well presented and thought through. Thoroughly interesting, with a few rooms from the Sissi period.

I didn`t really wanted to go into this museum but once I was at the botanical garden the lady at the entrance said "You should see it. It is very nice."
She was right. In the end I would even say she underestimated. This museum is filled with lovely little details and helped me understanding the struggles that the ancestors of the locals had to go through. Definitely worth visiting! It is also fun for kids.

This is part of Trauttsmandorf Gardens Indoor, not huge but quite interesting. Lots of displays and things to read and listen to, available in 4 languages, including English
