Lovely walk on a summers day, through vineyards and fields, down into Merano; bars to pause at etc, just lovely. It is a long walk if you decide to do up then down, so I recommend if one is less able, taking the chair lift up and walking down.

We enjoyed our walk looking up to the mountains and down to quaint Merano. There are about 80 steps to climb to commence the walk. There is a gun powder tower also worth climbing for lovely views. Further from that we came to a restaurant, which we were very glad was open, it being a low season part of winter.... More

walk or run along this great track which gives you lovely views of the town and goes to a castle. its easy graded and somewhat lit at night also, but would still recommend a torch for some darker bits

Although there are quite a few steps, this is a wonderful way to work off some calories while enjoying Merano.

This promenade is one of the most enjoyable places in Merano, offering easy access and a stunning view of the town and surrounding areas. It's perfect for a weekend stroll or run.

Some would expect traveling to Meran just to go swimming to the Therme, or go shopping to the designer boutiques, or go yummy eating. Surprisingly Meran has much more to offer. The Tappeiner Promenade along the river and the botanic gardens are worth the visit. We traveled with our small kids (3 and 7 years old) and enjoyed very much... More

A very popular promenade and easy walk. You start with some switchbacks and gain a little elevation, but soon the promenade levels off and provides nice views of Merano and surrounding area. The walk can turn into a nice/longer hike if desired. We ended up hiking to Castel Tirolo and the village of Dorf Tirol. It was a great hike,... More

Lovely walk, with fabulous views... quite warm on the day we went... But Meran is usually warm in summer, so no complaints. Bring your sunscreen! And then be prepared to just soak up all the beauty!
