About
Skyway Monte Bianco is much more than a cableway to reach 3,466 meters. It’s an experience: vertical, alpine, cultural, food & beverage and surreal. We bring you to the highest point of Italy and to the closest to the Mont Blanc. You'll live the experience inside the experience.

This miracle of engineering takes you up to 3466 m. There are two stops- The Pavilion at 2173m has bar, restaurant, shop and access to the mountain for a wander around. Then you can take the next cable car up to Punta Helbronner with fabulous views of the alps and particularly Mont Blanc- Monte Bianco. At the top station you can walk up to a 360 degree viewing platform if you’re up for it!!! It’s perfectly safe but a you’re a long way up!! Worth it though.

We travelled over from France for this and it didn’t disappoint. The views were spectacular.
I was a little worried about the cable car as I don’t like heights but it was fine. The car slowly rotated as you go up but a sat in the middle so I didn’t rotate.
You need to book tickets before you can book a slot. I found the booking on the website difficult but when I accessed it on my phone I could easily book. As we bought tickets on the same day, we had to wait in line for a bit but it was maybe 15 min which for a Saturday in August didn’t seem very bad.

I bought the cumulative ticket for 2 days of skipass plus the Skyway ticket. The skipass expired yesterday but the website did let me book the Skyway for this morning. When I showed up the skipass was not working so at the beginning the staff wouldn't let me enter and suggested I bought another ticket, paying the full price on top of what I had already paid to add the Skyway ticket to my skipass. Nowhere on the website did it say that the skipass had to still be valid, in fact I was able to book this morning and immediately received the confirmation. It was pointed out to me by the staff that my booking confirmation mentioned it, but of course I had my booking confirmation only after I purchased the cumulative ticket and had already made plans for my whole stay. At the end, the staff solved this problem by kindly offering a discount on the new ticket, but honestly I decided to go only because this is a once in a lifetime experience as I live far away from Valle d'Aosta, I don't think that I should have had to get another ticket only because the website is not programmed as it should and doesn't provide any information on how the bookings work.

If you want to see the mountain in high heels and a leopard print shawl or if you want to say you went to the mountains without doing any of the effort that makes it so rewarding, then this is perfect for you.
If you are a hiker or a climber and try to avoid passive experiences and you want to be saddened and disappointed then this will also be for you.
It’s commercial, crowded and expensive, but may be just what some people want.

We loved this - impressive new revolving cable cars sweep you to the heights, for an amazing panoramic view of Mont Blanc and the Alps. We could see the Matterhorn in the distance. Do it on a clear sunny and still day if possible. We also loved the shop and very reasonably priced cafe. All included in our lift passes, what’s not to love?!

We drove 2.5 hours just to ride the Skyway in July, and it was worth every minute and every cent. Even the drive into the Alps from the south was magnificent. But the views from both stages of the cable car were breathtaking, in all directions. This is an amazing feat of engineering.
The facilities are also wonderful - we had delicious hot cocoa and chocolate cake at 3,466 meters up Monte Bianco. You can go outside both at that level and at the midway point, where there is an lovely Alpine garden; when we were there it was brimming with flowers, butterflies and bees. Don't miss this!

Obviously mountains and snow are attractive and beautiful. For this reason it is a great but expensive trip up. What they forget to tell you after paying 55 euros is that you can travel higher for another 38 euro but it crosses into France. In reality this is the most impressive part of the trip as it takes you above the glaciers and another 400m higher but its in France. It means in 2 adults and a 10 year old we paid 257 euro only for lifts. It's a 1 time experience but the extra cost is sneaky. Maybe it's cheaper simply to go from Chamonix. Don't waste your money unless you are willing to pay the extra to go higher and get better photos.

Easy to find off the main road.
Large carpark. As we have an electric car, we found it cheaper to charge the car than it was to go into the carpark.
It doesn't matter where you stand in the gondola, as it gently rotates as you climb, so everyone gets to see everything.
We had lunch at the Pavillion (mid station) and it was good food and good service.
The rock and plant garden is great to wonder around. There could be a few more seats in the outside area, as people were leaving their coats on them and then going away - very annoying.
Up to the highest station. View are incredible. We also had a coffee in the bar. Staff were very helpful.
If you are anywhere nearby, this is a must see/do experience.
You can also take your dog.

Ridicolous experience trying to book a visit and purchase a ticket from the website.
The online shop is quite impossibile to reach and frequently answers with error messages. It is unacceptable.
Moreover, you have to purchase the ticket before to book the trip, without any warranty to find a place in the desired time.
Terrible user xp.

I was fairly skeptical about the Skyway, since it is quite expensive and I usually prefer being able to explore on my own. But the views from Punta Helbronner are really amazing, and worth the price, especially if you won't ever get that high on a mountain in another way. Also, it was nice that there were some options to walk around during winter midway at the Pavillion. Definitely a must-do if you are in the area, although I hope that next time I can rather descent on skis than with the cable car.

Hi, I've purchased tickets on behalf of my boss for him & his wife. They are not skiers...please could I have some advice on what to wear for this excursion? Are waterproof trousers/ski wear necessary or just warm clothing? Secondly, upon booking, the time says 08:30 - do they have to meet at 08:30 or is the time flexible? Thanks In advance!

I am planning to stay for few days in Aosta Italy. Then travel to Chamonix France. I understand there is a bus. But would it be possible to ascend mont Bianco from Aosta and then desends to Chamonix? I will only have a small backpack as luggage.
