Surprising frescoes in this monumental church - all of them rarities. The most interesting and biggest St Christoph we have ever seen. St Jerome is also amazing!

Very spiritual and special church. The art work and history is truly fascinating. Sadly I missed attending services there but I am sure it would be very special. A must visit regardless.

After visiting the church, go next door to the monastery and ask to visit the room where there are the paintings of various brothers at work. You will also see the painting of the monk wearing spectacles. This is reputedly the first example in art work. However, a church in Bergamo Alta also lays claim to this!

It was the first place we visited in Treviso and it was amazing. It is close to the city center and one of the most important places in Treviso.

The interior of this Church contains a fairly large number of ancient frescoes including a gigantic on of a saint with a smallish head and enormous feet. The place is closed at lunch so watch out for the proper time to get in.

San Niccolo was built at the beginning if the 14th c. simultaneous with San Francesco across town and is the largest church in Treviso. It is a mixture of gothic and romanesque and rises very high. There are spectacular freschi inside by L. Lotto,Tommaso da Modena and a spectacular altarpiece painting (1520) by Gerolanmo Savoldo.

Visited this place at midday - forgetting that everything closes between 12-3. The staff however let us roam around. The church itself is stunning with loads of paintings and statues. The ceilings are very ornate and a spectacular sight. The architecture is Italian gothic. The windows to the east and west represent the birth and death of Jesus. They are... More
