The Picasso exhibit was definitely worth the admission cost. The cafe was disappointing. Easily accessible from St Marks square.

Nice change from the historic art we have been bathed in, seeing modern art in the Guggenheim house. Many interesting pieces, but if you don't like modern art, don't come here. Also, we went mid afternoon and there was a line to buy tickets and...More

Peggy Guggenheim was an heiress who courted artists across the planet. The American lived its this lovely house on the Canal Grande. Her collection of artwork is beyond compare and so so worth the visit.

We visited the Guggenheim on our last day in Venice and enjoyed our time walking around. Nice understated museum in which we especially liked the photos showing how it was when Peggy Guggenheim actually lived in it. Not a big museum but well worth a...More

Art, like politics is almost certain to divide opinion.. two people looking at the same picture which evokes different responses.. there's a varied collection some good, some bad. I particularly liked the Picasso on the beach display and the Jackson Pollock's. If offered the commentary...More

Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with
street artists, students, painters, sculptors,
restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and
heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's
collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for
evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries
cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica
buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob
