The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is situated in the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni just east of the San Vio ferry terminal on the south bank of the Grand Canal where the entrance fee is 15 Euros. This was a modern art collection of 20th century artists...More

Hidden away in Dorsoduro, this is a great, small museum worth a visit. The Picasso’s, Pollock’s alone are worthy to be seen as well as other 1915-1950s modern painters.

The museum is small, but what it presents is very eclectic and exquisite in taste. We saw many wonderful painting and sculptures.

This was next door to our apartment. Good permanent collection and they had some good temporary exhibits too. The sculpture garden is particularly good. Well-presented, nice location.

Great gallery with something for everyone...even if it is just the view from the back of it! The array of art was breathtaking and we spent hours just mulling around, sitting, and taking in all the pieces

As usual the Guggenheim museums do not disappoint and the art is always interesting. However I would like to give some information about the building where the collection is housed. Palazzo Venier dei Leoni is an unfinished building (they lost their money building it) and...More

A nice change of pace from the collections of centuries old art in other museums in Venice. Interesting collection exhibited in a stunning villa on the water. You can get through this museum in 1-2 hours.

Abstract, modern art display that I was not impressed with. The building itself was lovely. It was right on the canal with a small sitting area you could enjoy the view. That is where I was as I was not interested in the abstract art....More

Great collection in a beautiful location. If you are interested in modern art then definitely visit; it really is an amazing collection. The audio guide is pretty good and contains some interesting commentary from Peggy's memoirs. Gallery has wheelchair lifts and plenty of accessible toilets....More

Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with
street artists, students, painters, sculptors,
restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and
heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's
collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for
evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries
cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica
buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob

Hi Cary The Museum was a home so it's not very large and probably could be done in around an hour. That said, if you want to spend a bit of time looking at the works more closely you shoud allow longer. My wife is very into... More
