My name's Luisella Romeo and I am a registered tourist guide in Venice. I run SeeVenice and offer private and semi-private tours in Venice and to the islands in the Venetian lagoon such as Murano, Burano and Torcello. You can also book walking tours in the city, both orientation tours and itineraries along the off-the-beaten paths. Boat tours with private watertaxi along the canals and guided tours to all museums and churches are also included as well as to temporary art exhibitions.

I have visited Venice several times and am always looking for something new to see. I have taken tours with Luisella before and have always been very impressed with her knowledge and passion. On my current trip I booked this tour and it was outstanding. We started with Luisella telling us about the history of coffee in Venice at our... More

Luisella's newest tour was fantastic. First off, I don't like coffee, but this tour was so good (and Luisella arranged ahead of time for me to have a special chocolate drink while at the coffee house - which was a total surprise to me - how awesome is that?) and I learned so much about how coffee came to Venice... We spent two half-days with Luisella, and were very tired (Luisella has boundless energy and never broke a sweat as we followed her through miles of back alleys and shortcuts she learned as a child) but very satisfied with our tour. She and her family have lived in the area for all their lives, so she can give insight and... More

Luisella is outstanding! She listened to what we were interested in and then made sure to tick off all the right boxes, including some that we hadn't even expected. We were interested in seeing artisans at work and Luisella delivered! We enjoyed getting to meet local artists and watching them work, while Luisella graciously translated our questions and praise. Thanks... More

Luisella Romeo is the best guide we have ever had! She was fascinating, full of precise information and facts infused with humor. Her English is superb. I would recommend her one hundred percent of the time.

We took this tour as a couple and met Luisella in St Marks at the appointed time and shared the experience with 3 other couples. What would you want, a tour with 30 other people where you can't get near the guide or a guide who speaks to you every few minutes. Luisella is fantastic, perfect English with a great... More

I didn't think it was possible that out of 391 reviews that 391 would rate the tour as "excellent". But I was wrong, as Luisella is the ultimate tour guide! Energetic, knowledgeable, friendly and just great to be around. She was very responsive in exchanging emails, on-time, and told us many interesting stories during the tour. In fact, I bought... For our first trip to Venice, we wanted to find someone who could help us get a feel for what the city is all about. Based on all of the excellent reviews, we decided to book a Venice Orientation Tour with Luisella - and we are so glad we did. Luisella met us at our hotel, and led us on... More

We had a wonderful two hour introduction to Venice tour with Luisella. We were 3 adults and 4 kids ranging in age from 10-14 and we all enjoyed the tour. It was very informative and Luisella is a great story teller. She was also great at sharing tidbits of information that you might not learn from a tour or history... More

Bella giornata con cara Luisella. We could easily spend another morning with her once a week! Book early. Grazie e arrivederci.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
