Il Bragozzo offers an alternative way to visit the lagoon of Venice, out of normal tourist's routes. Starting from Venice on board of very comfortable classic venetian fishing and merchant wooden boats that, thanks to their flat keel, we reach the most beautiful places of the lagoon, those that just the real venetians knows, in a very relaxing way.

My wife and I booked a tour with Tommaso in November 2016. The boat was an authentic hand-crafted Venetian Boat made in Burano by the shipbuilder. We took a nice slow paced tour from the stop in Ospedale to Murano where we asked Tommaso to stop so we could purchase some glass products. Next we proceeded to Torcello and visited... More

This was definitely a unique experience and had not a trace of tourist bling to it, thank goodness!. Tomasso was knowledable about his boat, the water and the sights we were seeing. And when we said we wanted to go to a deserted island to photograph, that's what we got. I loved it!

What a fantastic day. Booked as a surprise birthday trip Tommaso was the first to wish me happy birthday. He was friendly, knowledgeable and created the perfect day. We enjoyed the sunshine, sipping prosecco whilst listening to the history and culture of Venice and the outlying islands. Tommaso took the time to make us feel very welcome and overall this... More

What a day! We arrived at the boat launch Opedale not entirely sure what the day would be. What an amazing day we had. Tomasso is a Venetian with a wealth of history(masters degree)and knowledge. His boat is authentic and he is the loveliest person. We traveled along waterways beyond mainstream Venice. Tomasso is so warm and kind. He is... More

We reached out to Tomasso to request a booking on this tour after reading the reviews from the TA reviews. Tomasso was quick to respond with the exact details including a dropped pin of the location. He was timely and professional upon greeting us. We climbed on board his open boat, somewhat like a large scale gondola, with 4 other... More

Tommaso was a funny, well informed, generous and friendly guide as well as excellent and safe boat captain. We took a 6 hr tour of the lagoons including a visit to Torcello for one of our best meals in the Venice area. The tour took us to St. Francesco del Deserto, Torcello, Murano, Burano and past several other islands. There... More

We had such a great evening with Tommaso on the sunset and wine tour. It was the perfect excursion for our first night in Venice! Tommaso shared so many tips and information about Venice that was very helpful for the rest of our trip. We loved seeing the different lagoons, and were thrilled when he took us through Burano and... Tomasso gave us a great tour with 3 other couples. Everyone was happy with the evening. The boat is charming the night was beautiful and Tomasso is very friendly and knowledgeable of Venice's history and present day events. I would recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful evening away from the crowds of tourists at St Marks.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
