Just arrived at our hotel after waiting almost two hours at the airport to depart via the water taxi extremely long queues and when we eventually boarded the staff working were extremely rude and ignorant appalling customer service would not recommend.

From seeing some of the other reviews, I guess I got lucky and didn't have any challenges on my transfer from San Marco to the airport. I purchased my tickets a few days early to avoid any possible long line on the day I was...More

I was initially dubious about a tour with the Alilaguna public water transport company since we could have visited the same three islands independently for the same price using a 24 hour ticket. However this whistle stop tour of the three beautiful - and very...More

We booked the Murano, Torcello, Burano 4.5 hour tour through Expedia. I figured that a 4.5 hour tour would plenty of time to get some insight to this incredibly fascinating city. They only offer a multi-lingual tour, but I think 5 languages is far too...More

I am never one to write reviews but feel extremely upset with my experience with this company. My husband and I are preparing to leave Venice tomorrow and went to the kiosk (along the water in Dorsoduro, Venice) to ask a few SIMPLE questions to...More

I went to the transportation info counter in the airport because the kiosk wasn’t working properly. They were very helpful and sold me a ticket, with the next boat departing in 30 min. When I got to the water transport area, the lines were HUGE!...More

Took the Alilaguna from the Rialto stop to the airport. Didn't have any hitches. Purchased tickets at the Rialto stop ticket booth the day before. Just don't expect to see much while in the boat, the windows are small. You just sit and wait till...More

Although extremely slow, I believe it is the best choice from/to airport combing low cost and nice journey. Arrives and leaves on time every 30 minutes. During “hot” periods, probably long lines at the airport. Same company offers daily trips to islands.

Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district)
when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring
cars and buses close to the center of Venice.
Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking
Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes
with energy from travelers and students. Historic
palaces and former industrial buildings house some
departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture

I'd advise taking the Alilaguna as the simplest option, but if you are arriving at a peak time of the day in the middle of summer or on a bank holiday when the place is crawling with visitors, then I'd suggest you find... More
