Top ways to experience Campo San Luca and nearby attractions

The area
Neighbourhood: San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

The interesting thing about this piazza is the mix of people that one will see here. Not entirely touristy as there are few sites in the area (La Scala Bovolo, Teatre Fenice) but is much more local as there are many residences and a large local government building nearby. A number of shops, a couple of bars and a restaurant line the piazza. We actually visited here a few times during our stay to grab a coffee or an afternoon snack.

This small campo, located a short distance from Piazza San Marco can be very crowded. It is the location for tour groups to meet. It also has a bank, a great pasticceria and numerous stores. Many Venetians consider this square the very heart of the city.

If you come to Venice, you will undoubtedly find yourself walking around this lovely area. The area is so packed though so you may want to go to other areas once you’ve had enough. The gelato stores here lol are quite tasty!

Campo San Luca :- A bustling square at the heart of Venice’s historic center, Campo San Luca has long been a popular meeting point for locals, and its constant stream of visitors make it a lively hub both day and night. Home to a cluster of shops, cafés and restaurants, Campo San Luca makes a good spot for people-watching, but it’s also an important navigational landmark, just a short stroll from the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge, en route to Piazza San Marco.

Campo San Luca is a small square located a short distance from St Marks. There is a bar (Blackjacks), a tour company (Bucintoro Viaggi), a bank w/ATM, a bakery and a few other shops. We came here to meet up with our tour group.

One of dozens of squares you can pass through near to San Marco. Unremarkable as it is set in Venice, it is still an inspiring place to see if you are passing through

A small square, nice as such, but not really an attraction? Somewhere to pass by to something, I think, but quite ok place to pass by.

Our hotel was situated near the Campo San Luca, and is very close to the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge. Once we found the area, we walked through this area no less than 10 times. There are a few restaurants and shops, but it's always just fun to stand around and watch the world (filled with its tourists) go by.

Campo San Luco has many roads into it, it's a lovely little square which I stumbled on when on route to St Marcos square, take a step back and watch locals and tourist hustling away, some great shops around here too.
