This small island is a bit off the usual Venetian path, but it’s worth seeing. Its Santa Maria Assunta church houses impressive mosaics, its bell tower offers great surrounding views—and it’s home to Locanda Cipriani, a well-regarded restaurant and hotel that played host to writing legend Ernest Hemingway .

Worth a trip to get away from the bustle of Venice. Bus and tourist bus routes take you there. A fair bit of walking involved.

If you have the time check this beautiful island out. So peaceful to stroll along the canal and explore the church and tower, We felt like we stepped back in time. Just a short board ride from Burano.

This small island is very different from Murano and Burano. It is really small, less colourful, but more relaxing. It is beautiful, but in a different way. I really liked it. We did not visit the cathedral, but climbed up the campanile. We particularly liked...More

There is not much on this island but it is very peaceful. There is a cathedral with beautiful golden tile mosaics which is the main attraction. There are a couple restaurants which serve meals, coffee and wine. I would plan to spend 2-3 hours just...More

We were in Venice for 5 days and included Torcello Island in our trip, it takes about 30 min in a water bus. Much more laid back than Venice. If you have the time, visit it.

So here is where life on the Venice Lagoon started but now there are more sheep than people as permanent residents. It is delightful to spend some time here walking from the ferry terminal to the church and there are plenty of options for dining...More

Venice is obviously a unique experience, but Torcello is a totally different change of pace from that crowded island. For those needing a dose of greenery, Torcello is the place. It is a small island and not a real tourist trap. It has plenty of...More

Water bus number 12 usually runs from Fodemante Nove (Venice) to burano murano and torcello, each island is worth visiting.
