This small island is a bit off the usual Venetian path, but it’s worth seeing. Its Santa Maria Assunta church houses impressive mosaics, its bell tower offers great surrounding views—and it’s home to Locanda Cipriani, a well-regarded restaurant and hotel that played host to writing legend Ernest Hemingway .

Went here as part of a tour ran by Venice Tours. We got 40 minutes here which was not long enough. There is around 10 to 15 minute walk in each direction just to get to the main Church which looks very nice. There is...More

Went there because I was curious to see the famous mosaic and it is really worth while seeing, although the entrance fee is quite expensive for a church in the middle of nowhere

We stopped off here to see the Tower and church together with Atilla the Hun's throne. The tower was leaning as are most in Venice. Very interesting: bars along the way for a quick drink, lovely canal with bridge. Beautiful sunsets as we left.

Having seen ancient churches all over the World, we loved St Mark's Basilica of course, because it is full of marvellous mosaics everywhere. Years ago we went to the extraordinary Basilica of San Vitale at Ravenna, where there are 6th century Byzantine mosaics. The beautiful...More

It's a great way to get a sense of what all the islands in the lagoon were like before the massive development which is Venice today. Good way to begin a trip to Venice, but read a history of Venice to understand how the various...More

There isn't a lot to do here besides visiting the church but it is a nice water taxi ride from the busyness of the main islands. There are a few restaurants and nice places to stay but many were closed during the off season. It...More

We enjoyed it but were anxious to go on to Murano and Burano. We walked around and enjoyed the scenery however t here were a lot of people due to a couple of tour buses so we decided not to stay for lunch.

We enjoyed spending a few hours on this island on our honeymoon in Venice. It's a good way to spend 1-2 hours to escape the business of the city and easy to get to on the vaparetto. There's a nice gentle walk to the beautiful...More

This place is off the beaten path. You can take a municipal boat here, but the schedule is very limited. There is one hotel and restaurant, and you might find the museum and tower open, or maybe not. It’s a a good place to walk...More

Water bus number 12 usually runs from Fodemante Nove (Venice) to burano murano and torcello, each island is worth visiting.
