This small island is a bit off the usual Venetian path, but it’s worth seeing. Its Santa Maria Assunta church houses impressive mosaics, its bell tower offers great surrounding views—and it’s home to Locanda Cipriani, a well-regarded restaurant and hotel that played host to writing legend Ernest Hemingway .

This is a great place to wander and enjoy a peaceful couple of hours - visit the chiesa and spend time looking at the construction and details of the old church. The boat ride out is part of the enjoyment.

This was the third stop on the three island cruise and although it is a long walk to the church it is worth it. There are some very interesting grave stones there and a lovely basilica.

Water bus number 12 usually runs from Fodemante Nove (Venice) to burano murano and torcello, each island is worth visiting.
