Cute church with wonderfully cut pastel marble panels. It is in a congested area that adds to its charm. After seeing this chuch it made me better appreciate the the stonework throughout Venice. And with the cleaning of St. Mark's, it brought to my attention how abundant it is.

Make sure you don't miss a visit to this little jewel. Inside and outside this church is just perfect. Just enjoy the harmonious dimensions and the beautiful decorations up near the altar.

Know that the corner nearby this cute little church (the one with views of calle/ponte Widman) is one of the most picturesque for those iconic/cliche canal reflections in all of Venice. I am done. The end.

I read a review that said it was a lovely place but no one seemed to go there. We had icecream nearby. We went to go in and have a look but you had to pay to go in. I expect it costs quite a bit to maintain and the paintings are of particular interest to art buffs, but I... More

The Miracoli is a small jewel box. Each visit is more spiritual. A great ceiling and panels. Go, it's unique and well worth the visit.

This is a lovely little church hidden away in Castello. We went after reading Jan Morris' "Venice", where she recommended this 'jewel box' of a church, and were very glad we did. Reading the reviews since our visit, I am sorry that we didn't realise there was a museum upstairs. We'll have to do that next time. It is easy... More

A hidden gem in Castello! This is where Venetians say their marriage vows and it is a lovely little church, very quiet and in a great location, 10 minutes north east from Rialto

This christian church makes you feel when you go inside it that you are out of our mortal world into a place of miracles and eternal peace.

First visited this little Church in 2008, lovely to have the opportunity to return again, a very peaceful place on the edge of a canal.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
