Neighbourhood: Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

This beautiful bridge is the last one remaining with three arches , it’s also the fifth bridge for dimensions after Rialto, Scalzi, Accademia and Costituzione.

This bridge was built by the architect Andrea Tirali in 1688. It spans the Cannaregio canal and the Fondamenta Cannaregio and Fondamenta Giobbe. You can see this nice bridge on a painting from Francesco Guardi.

When in Venice, just unwind and relax.... the best way to experience this beautiful city is by spending the whole day walking, browsing shops, and stopping for refreshments at amazing gorgeous little eateries that seem to magically pop up out of no where! We walked this bridge while enjoying a gelato standing right at the top while watching a gondola sailing under with the gondolier was an italian song. Truly lovely day!

It is not one of the most visited bridges in Venice, but it's a nice view, with nice little streets. It is also a good walk until there, lot of nice canals too see near.

It's a bridge, and it's made of bricks...and it's made so you can cross from one side to the other... That's it. Don't expect nothing fancy about it.

we passed under this bridge on a water bus/vaporetto, so decided to go back to take a photo. It is near the jewish quarter, and Cannaregio, which is one of our favourite parts of the city. So we took our photo of the bridge with three arches, then walked around the jewish quarter, and enjoyed the nearby shopping, and quiet waterside paths

Like all the bridges in Venice it's lovely to wander over and gaze at the boats passing underneath. Bit less frantic than the area around the Grand Canal. Not sure I would go out of my way to find it.

our hotel was next to tre archi. It is an interesting bridge. The area is residential in the old jewish section. The bridge itself sports a nice view of the grand canal and to the ocean. It's nice but i wouldn't go out of my way just to see this bridge unless you are into bridge construction.

This bridge, one of 2 to cross Rio di Cannaregio, both unique in that they are the only examples of their type of bridge in Venice. This 3 arch bridge was built in 1688. There are 2 empty niches that hold no clue as to what was in them; above the outer arches are sets of 3 coats of arms. Well worth a walk from the Grand Canal to view or it can be seen from a vaporetto enroute to or from the lagoon.

This is a really gorgeous bridge, and is very unique due to its three arches. Worth stopping to see it

Ponte di Tre Archi is in the Cannaregio sector of Venice, not on the Lido. Need to update the web site.
