We went to the Lido on a beautiful sunny day. The island is flat and the pavements are wide and look newly paved so a smooth journey for the wheelchair.

Took the No 1 water bus here from Pl de Roma and had a great day having lunch and then on to the beach for two hours of down time. So nice to get away from the crowds of central Venice. There are buses to take on the island. Took the water bus 4.2 back which was a different route... More

A short water bus ride from Venice. To what is essentially a small island with a 12km beach, much less busy than Venice but charming. When you exit water bus simply walk directly across road and keep going and it will take you to beach the other side of island. As is the case in Italy the entire beach is... More

Lido is perfect for people who want to visit Venice but who don't want to pay over the top prices. It's 10-20 minutes from Venice on the water buses which arrive regularly and provides a good break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The island is quiet and safe. My partner and I stayed in a hotel on... More

OK so we didn't know much about Lido except that it had a beach but we jumped on the public water bus to take a look. On embarking the first thing we noticed was traffic - quite a shock after seeing none for 2 days. Next we realised we had no idea where the beach was and we quickly realised... More

This is such a pretty town easily accessible from Murano Island or Venice. The town is relaxed and has many shops and restaurants, ice-cream parlours. The beach is big and has a restaurant, cafe, toilets and showers (1€ each). There are also 2 supermarkets nearby.

Lido is a great island, the volume of people is small and the island has a flair all to itself. 30 min by boat and worth the trip.

A beautifully presented island with much to enjoy about the facilities and their presentation. The landscaping of the main Corso is excellent. Neither the free beach nor the private ones seems attractive
