The facade of the San Pantalon seems to be a duplicate of other churches seen in Venice, but the interior is really stunning. Taking photographs is prohibited in this church, so I can offer only one overview of the interior, taken from the entrance, but...More

A very unassuming looking building from the outside but step inside and the ceiling is amazing. We visited this church as part of a walking tour, otherwise we never would have stepped through the door. The ceiling painting is painted on canvas by Gian Antonio...More

This is quite a pleasant square and if this was not Venice I would probably rate it much higher. Thing is, we are comparing this square with other squares in Venice and in the light of that this is not the prettiest. Still, the area...More

The ceiling in this church took 24 years to paint, make sure you stop by and see this amazing work of art while in Venice.

Each time we go to a specific site in Venice, we try to take a route that we have not walked before. This takes time, but makes Venice the place you visit over and over again. That is how we found the San Pantalon. The...More

Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with
street artists, students, painters, sculptors,
restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and
heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's
collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for
evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries
cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica
buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob

The church is open all day but avoid the times when church services are on. Have some change ready for the light machines. Enjoy!
