You would never think that this abandoned-looking church housed anything beyond pigeons but you would be wrong. It's free to see the biggest canvas painting in the world, on the ceiling, depicting the Martyrdom and Apotheosis of St Pantalon, painted by Giovanni Antonio Fumiani.

Interesting neighbourhood. A bit off the beaten path. Outside is rather obscure. But inside. Incredible Fresques. And it's free to visit. Maybe not must see. But if you are walking around - come and check out.

Don’t let the outside fool you, it’s the most inconspicuous of churches but wow what a hidden gem! The ceiling is a great work of art worthy of a detour!

Beautiful ceiling, the artwork is breathtaking. Certainly worth a visit. €1 to light the ceiling is certainly worth it.

The craftsmanship & skill in the ceiling has to be seen to be believed. How they achieved the perspective is a wonder

It didn't look like much from the outside sincerely, but a few people said it was a must so we listened and glad we did. Free entrance and just beautiful interor, although a little darker.

There's a hidden treasure here. The San Pantalon looks simple from the outside. Most would pass this church unknowingly. But Fumiani dedicated 20 years of his life to paint the ceiling of this church during the Baroque period. It's especially memorable as the painting was...More

Meeting place for a walking tour . Guide took us in what looks like an unassuming church in a small square . What a surprise inside. The ceiling is not a fresco but an oil on canvas. It is enormous . Spectacular even though the...More

The church is open all day but avoid the times when church services are on. Have some change ready for the light machines. Enjoy!
