The Basilica of San Zeno, the patron saint of Verona, lies outside the city center, but still within walking distance (we walked in one direction and took the bus in the other). It is an excellent example of Italian Romanesque architecture with a lovely adjoining...More

This is a very remarkable basilica, where Romeo and Juliet marriage took place. The basilica itself is attached to the abbey over a pre-existing monastery, and a small church housing the remains of the fourth bishop of Verona. The presbytery is accessible by stairs.

This is well worth a visit. The frescos are worth the visit and you do get a very well presented audion guide with 8 well scropted and spoken pieces of information tied to clearly identified spots in the church.

I never knew anything about S. Zeno before going to Verona. The story is interesting. The church is lovely and has a good audio guide.

Hi, you can find the ticket at the entrance and this include other churches too. The audio is inside the church, but you will find someone there very helpful. The tour is less than 1 hour but it worth. Enjoy it :)

At the entrance of the 4 historical churches of Verona there is a basket where you will find some kimono that you can put over naked shoulders or wear if you are dressed with pants or skirt too short. This is a free service.
