The complex include San Giovanni in Fonte, Santa Elena and the Canon’s cloister. The Cathedral is the central structure. The baptistery of the Cathedral was rebuild around 1123 A.D. Wonderful piece of art and history.
Although originally built in the Romanesque style in the 12th century, this cathedral was restored and enlarged in the Gothic style in the 15th century. The interior is impressive. There is an adjoining baptistery with a magnificent baptismal font at its center.
We're not churchy people, but this us well worth a visit. The building is beautiful on the outside, but inside..... absolutely stunning! So much to look at and admire. Well worth a visit.
