Well worth the walk through town and across the river, the museum is built adjacent to the Roman amphitheater. The city was one of the northernmost outposts of the Roman Empire and the museum has a nice collection of antiquities from marble statuary and architectural...More

The alterations to the museum, many of which were concerned with ensuring its safety in case of an earthquake ( ironically, I write this a week after the tragedy of Pescara di Tronto ) started 3 years ago in June 2013 and the museum re-opened...More

Just re.openend after a long restoring, this open/indoor museum is simply one of the best thing to see in Verona! We were lucky to enter only for 1 euro (promo fare for the re-opening). We visited in a cloudy day, but view is fantastic, landascaping...More

as the museum had just re opened they are only charging 1 euro so can't go wrong with that price. the amphi-theater isn't much to see but the small museum has some nice artifacts. the views from the top are fantastic overlooking river and verona.

The museo isn't unusual. We've seen several like it in Paris, Israel, etc. However the museo hosts wonderful photography exhibits that make it worth the trip. Looking at the photos in the archeological dig adds a feeling of timeless eternal beauty.

The museum is located in the Teatro Romano and has excellent pieces in superb rooms adding to the authenticity. Not as sterile as formal exhibition rooms. Superb.
