Little oasis of calm

Located by the west entrance this is worth a short visit to walk around or a longer one to just sit and relax. It's very calming not that Vicenze is a hectic city.

Green, tranquil and luxurious. A gorgeous quiet garden in the centre of Vicenza with water, statues, trees and stately buildings. Birds, ducks and humans sharing the wonderful gardens.

We wandered the lovely space, sat on a bench and planned another wonderful day in Vicenza. A quiet place to sit and reflect, people watch , have lunch or quickly pass through. Beautiful statues, fountains and trees . Many blooming bulbs in April.

We passed through the gardens often as our apartment was close by. The park is used by many people during the day from students on their way to school, mums and dad's with their children, older people out for a stroll, younger couples and others. Giardino Salvi is well known for its design and features by Palladio that are well... More

Although quite small and in need of some tender care, this park offers a few minutes peace and relaxation away from the round of being surrounded by history.

I had expected more of the Giardini Salvi : the gates are very beautiful and inviting near the entrance of the old town. Once inside, the park is rather small, with lots of statues, in my eyes a bit haphazardly placed, and of differing quality. The palladian bridge in one corner is very picturesque and worth a picture.
