We began our day in Vicenza at the Duomo, where a man playing the organ set a serene tone for appreciating the carvings and frescoes. Much of the basilica had been restored in the 1990s. To the right of the altar, a side chapel featured...More

And Vicenza is no exception to this rule. The construction of the Duomo of Vicenza was started in the 11th Century and continued through the years, as usual with medieval churches; the famous Palladio also did work for this Duomo. The Duomo is surely worth...More

This Duomo lacka athosphere and artistic, decorative intelligence. Just the opposite of the very beautiful Duomo of Brescia. The only reason to go in is to pray or to see the Veneziano altarpiece helas presented behind a very badly reflecting thick glass,

The Cathedral of Vicenza was almost entirely destroyed during WWII and later rebuilt so it looks somewhat new. The original dome and the northern entrance were designed by Palladio.

We visited during Mass, so we weren't able to see as much as we would have liked and weren't able to get close to the altar, but we liked what we were able to see.

Impelled by the beauty of this cathedral, we wanted to take a look inside. Since it was our first stay in Vicenza, we didn't know much about it, but we were lucky to come across an elderly lady who was very proud of it and...More

The church is interesting to visit because of its huge size and importance for Vicenza. Although in Italy You can meet more decorated churches.
