My husband is obsessed by Palladio. He was so thrilled to finally visit Vicenza and to actually see all the buildings he designed. This museum provides background about Palladio as well as about the buildings he designed. Entry is included in the Vicenza Musuem Card....More

This museum has not found it's strength. It seems to want to appeal to both novices and experts, but really does not satisfy either type of visitor. I have a fairly solid knowledge of Palladio, and have visited many of his villas and churches in...More

I am sorry you didn't like our museum. I agree it now lacks a biographical section on Palladio that would appeal to novices, and we are indeed working on it. The Slot Villa video is either much loved or totally disliked by our visitors, there...More

We saved the Palladio Museum for last but should have visited it first, because it would have helped us appreciate his buildings more. The museum contained some well-executed scale models of Palladio’s major buildings, with cutaways revealing the interiors. One exhibit featured a copy of...More

Museum includes a history of Palladio along with copies of his books and a background on him as a person and his philosophy. Most impressive are the models of his buildings and how they relate to the architects he influenced. We followed this up with...More

The Palladio Museum is housed in the Palazzo Barbarano, of Palladio's design. It has exhibits about Palladio's work as well as more general architectural topics. Although we are not architecture experts, we had a wonderful time.

This will be of interest to fans of Palladio as well as novices to his work who just want to learn the basics of his 'grand designs'. The models around the different rooms really brought to life his achievements. A must see part of the...More

Not a bad museum, but it lacks something. In fact the entire way Vicenza presents the history of Palladio lacks something. There are no Palladio walks (showing you the different buildings), the city tourist maps are inaccurate. The museum is in a Palladio Villa -...More

We were visiting Vicenza specifically to see Palladian villas, so this was a great addition to our trip. It is a small museum in one of Palladio's buildings, without "artifacts" from Palladio's life, but with good biographical details & terrific models of many of his...More

We were expecting something more from this building. After the impressive and vast amount of stairs we had to negotiate to get to the top we discovered that there was a lift round the corner out of sight of the entrance desk. Not a good...More
