Interesting garden, well care with lots of species of trees and shrubs typical of Sardinian and Mediterranean zone. Inside the garden there are vestiges of the pre-roman and roman period. The schedule is a little awkward....Open only from Monday to Friday all the year from...More

Please note this isn't open at weekends! We hiked all the way to the gardens in the midday sun (silly, I know), getting a bit lost enroute, only to discover it is only open on week days...

We expected better, given it's association with the Botany Dept of the university. That said, it was pleasant and cool. Was surprised to be charged an entry fee...have been to far bigger & better Botanical Gardens for free. Given it's uni associations, I expected more...More

It was difficult to get there because Orto Botanico is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. and is open only until 6pm on weekdays. Keep in mind that the entrance is near Villa Tigelius and not the Amphiteatre.

I visited the garden in January. It was a nice discover. A huge selection of green things, panels reasonably well organized. Overall the place communicated a good care and organization. I think the place will give its best of Spring/Autumn

Like other Italian and foreign tourists standing puzzled at the closed gates on a Sat morning, we were disappointed to find the gardens were not open at the time and day advertised on the sign at the gate!

Wasn't expecting an entry fee and the gatekeeper was rude, demanding we had the right money as he had no change. Interesting old roman water cistern and some lovely big figus trees but have seen better elsewhere for free! I am sure though that in...More

Botanical garden was a good place to rest after a long walk in hot ad sunny Cagliari. So we had fun watching all different kind of palms and other trees in there. Good place for family visit.

We had visited this Botanical garden some 3 years ago in February and were interested to see how it looked in Spring. Maybe its the economy but it was so disappointing with dried ot pots dying plants and unattended gardens, definitely not recommended
