Our group left Agrigento and went to Selinunte. This was an impressive location but the temple was not as well preserved. It is definitely worth the visit and the surrounding locations as beautiful. This is another must see place if you are on the south...More

Visiting Sicily for its ancient history? You will enjoy Selinunte. You can walk the streets and see the grid laid out by the ancient Greeks. In some parts you can see the three ages: 1st Greek, 2nd Cartheginian, 3rd Roman. You can also walk around...More

I agree with the review that advises doing addition research before arriving at the site. We visited both Selinunte and the Valley of the Temples. While you can walk through, around and in the ruins at Selinunte, that's not the case at the Valley of...More

A fantastic site. However there is very little information or educational information available there. To make the most of this get some guide/book before hand, else you are just looking at a "pile of ruins", some of which have been restored, poorly as well. There...More

Selinunte is a vast archeological Park with the ruins of many Temples. It’s another fascinating example of the Greek civilisation in Sicily.

A really amazing place. When staying in the south or west of Sicily a must see! Entrance only 6 euro's per person. Unesco heritage and beautiful temples. We were there in october and the climate was very good for visiting. Can imagine that in summer...More

Interesting and tranquil. Park up and enjoy a stroll through both sites. Good to read up on it before a visit though there are information plaques at each temple. Golf buggy transport with guides available at extra cost for those who may find the walk...More

You can park directly outside and you need to buy your guidebook before you go in as there is no shop inside. Plenty of toilets around the site. You can hire an electric buggy with driver to do most of the site, if you don't...More

We visited this site the day after visiting the Valley of the Temples, and for a number of reasons we preferred this site. The site is also quite big but is much quieter. Parking was much easier. The site is in a lovely spot above...More

This historic site is separated into two sections; 1) Temple of Hera and 2) Acropolis. Entry 6 Euros. You can walk in and around the Temple of Hera and walk around the Acropolis. Stunning views from the Acropolis to the Mediterranean Sea. Allow 3 hours...More

We used the Michelin Green Guide, which we took with us, and found it along with the excellent explanatory signage to be fine. We hiked and did not use a guide.
