If you like cinema this is the place to go. Personal presentation, lots of stuff, rooms buildt as original movie (I loved the Godfather studio). I came to the complex only for the "museum of landing" and it was worth it to go there.

This museum is part of a very unique 4 museum complex. A series of buildings that were used a sulphur refineries were reclaimed and converted into this very interesting complex. It is an easy 30 minute stroll to get there. If you are at Via Etna go to Via Umbertto And walk about 15- 20 minutes and then make a... More

I was treated to a personalized presentation through the two floors of displays. The layout is very a informative panorama of cinematic development. A 15 minute film in the middle of the tour was both educational and entertaining. Several exacting recreations of film sets give visitors a realistic viewpoint. I am a film director, on a location shoot in Sicily,... More

If you are interested in the history of film you will love this little museum. For 4 euros, you get a personal guided tour. Sadly, it is only in Italian, but the guide spoke slowly and simply for me because my Italian is okay but not great. They have original equipment, movie posters, photos and a lot of other things... We had visited the Museo Dello Sbarco in Sicilia the day before and had really enjoyed it so we decided to give this a try. We had a most enthusiastic guide with us from beginning to end patiently explaining everything (in Italian). Here you can see the very birth of films and from when prehistoric man tried to express himself... More

Friendly staff and a warm welcome. Some insights into Italian cinema but mainly an international approach. Translations are not good at all If you are going to do them get a native speaker to check them over. They were TERRIBLE. Visitors were given a few sheets of A4 to read out room by room which helped a bit but not... More

A bit out of the way really but near the station ( which is out of the way). Quite interesting but doesn't take too long to see unless you are a film nerd.

A small but entertaining museum, film lovers will appreciate it. Wish things were written in English but being in a non English speaking country, wasn't expecting it. Next to the WWII museum, so may as well hit this as well. Kitschy and fun.

This museum comes across as if put together by someone who knows very little about cinema. I was hoping to find out more about Sicilian and Italian cinema - sadly this was only in Italian and very sketchy. The film sets are kitsch fun but not informative

We had a couple of hours to kill in Catania so decided to visit the museum of cinema in the city's museum complex just a few meters from the railway station. Really glad we visited it. We were given a guided tour, our guide and I getting by in part Italian, part English. The theme is really that man has... More
