I was lucky as a nun let me look round after a service and only me in before they closed the church. It is one of many stunning churches in the city and particularly this street.

It took us a while to locate the entrance as we were looking for the usual doorway to a church or cathedral. Nope, its an incongruous door just next to the archway across the road. Once inside you follow the audio tour directions until you...More

I found this church to be much prettier and more ornate than Basilica Cathedrale Sant' Agata. It had beautiful frescos all over the church, a beautiful main altar and color everywhere you looked. It is located about 5-6 blocks from the main square and cathedral.

This is a drop-dead gorgeous church that still forms the core of a convent of cloistered nuns. You will be handed a tablet that has narration in a number of languages. This will lead you through various rooms where the nuns meet guests (behind grills)...More

Entry Euro 5 - no -flash photography allowed. The interior of the church is a step-back into the times of the Baroque. Quiet dazzling - especially if you have the time to just sit and quietly contemplate the beauty. You are given a sheet to...More

Not your usual Italian church... this Baroque gem has been lovingly restored and is really worth a visit. For 5Eu you get an audio guide which explains the vivid ceiling fresco murals which are really amazing with symbolic scenes. This is a more intimate church...More
