This was a rare and awesome experience indeed! It's a property that is not always open to the public..we found out because an email was sent out to the concierge at our hotel . Open visit at 2:30...We went and were not disappointed. The guide ( it turns out ) is a relative of the original owners. So it truly... More

I organised a day trip for my work colleagues to Sicily and wanted to add some culture to this trip. Trip Advisor helped me in choosing the Palazzo as one of our attractions. I emailed Ruggero Moncada who replied immediately and was very accommodating to my requirements. Mr Moncada gave us a private tour in English, which was extremely interesting.

This magical old palace is like a massive garden folly. Its highly detailed facade illustrates a confidence and exhuberance unseen in modern times. What a time it must have been to have seen this rise in it's infancy...denoting the power and the confidence of its era. Gorgeous.

We were very lucky that the Palazzo was opening during our stay in Catania. We had a really informative tour given by one of the owners. The ballroom is breathtaking. The wonderful paintings on the ceiling, the balcony where the band would have played and the sweeping staircase were all marvelous. Music was playing when we entered and you could... More

You get to see some six ground floor rooms with a commentary from the owner, who is multi- lingual. But the tours are multi-lingual too, which may mean that in a tour of twenty or so people, where your language group is small you may get a very abbreviated commentary.

Reading the reviews it does seem to be a bit “hit and miss”, as to whether or not you get to see inside Palazzo Biscari. We were fortunate enough to get a “hit”. We had just arrived as the owner was letting out a group of people and he asked the two of us if we would like to come... More

This is on my walk to and from my air b&b and I asked the man at the front gate if I could take a picture of the front of the house since it was lovely (the front gate you come in is magnificent). The owner happened to be coming in on his mountain bike and invited me to his... More

Reading the other reviews saying you can arrange private tours, I thought this might be worth a visit. I had email conversations arranging the date and time of mine and my friends tour. However when we arrived they told us they were closed, even though they had other people in the building. I said that we had arranged a tour... More

Last week I went purposely to visit this place at around 11.30 hrs but was turned away by the portiere, who told me that the place was not open to the public although I could see young persons coming out of the building.
