Beautiful and moving

We went to a service here and lit some candles for loved ones that have passed. It is worth visiting and is a typical sicilian cathedral

The departing point for tour buses. Not only the Cathedral, but sevrral other interesting sites, like the Roman Greek Theaters and the Bellini Museum, are nearby.

Literally the heart of the city. It is a magnificent square. A place where to hang out. Many people gather there. Some eating, some with children, some taking photos, some just relaxing. Some nice bars and cafes too. I prefer Cathedral bar at the far corner next to the fountain.

Kind of dimmed because we were unable to go into the duomo. The plaza is beautiful with open air market next to it.

Right after we landed at the airport in Catania, this was the first place our tour guide took us to see. Standing in this plaza reminded me of the many similar plazas all over Europe that I have seen, and now I knew that indeed I was in Europe (and no longer in the Middle East). The elephant statue with... More

This is the heart of the city and a great and impressive model of baroque art. The Duomo is impressive and the lava elephant statue a landmark of the city. Behind the fountain in the piazza, do not miss the fish market.
