We went to visit this castle with kids and our family' friends. The castle is set right in the middle of the city. The area is surrounded by beautiful gardens and further more there are plenty relevant sites just a step away from the castle. The entrance has a ticket to be paid that is about six euro per person... More

The museum is in an old castle which adds to the experience. The collection is well presented and quite varied. I especially liked the statues. The museum is within walking distance of the main square.

I visited the castle as I was doing a walking tour of Catania. It is located away from the main tourist centres and therefore is not crowded. The museum does not have much, but the castle itself if worth exploring as it is constructed differently than others of the same era. The condition is quite good and it enables one... More

I visited the museum and seen the exhibition "Tra arte e follia" (art and crazyness) with paintings from Ligabue and a final part dedicated to madhouses. I found the exhibition very touchy and very well set. In the top rooms of the castle are shown paintings from sicilian artists and more. It would be great to have a rooftop cafeteria... More

Our expectations were high but what a disappointment. A mish mash of exhilbits with little or no effort made to tell the visitor what they were looking at, say for a short caption. Staff sat reading there kindles, no one offering to explain the exhibits. The exhibtion of Antonio Ligabue and Pietro Ghizzarde was ridiculously overdone, too much to fully... More

The castle is quite impressive and close to the center. The museum has at the moment an exhibition of Ligabue certainly worth seeing. You will also find Roman vases and statues. Well organized Worth the visit

Visited the castello in catania. Just go there, take pictures from the outside and leave. We payed 32 euro to go inside, which is a complete waste of money, hardly any historic artifacts. The filled the castle with exhibition of paintings with the theme crazy. If you are into this then it may be interesting but otherwise ... NO.
