Narrow and elongated space behind Via Roma (west) immediately north of the Post Office building. The monumental buildings are concentrated on the eastern side, where the complex of buildings of the congregation of San Filippo Neri was located, with the House of the Fathers of the aforementioned Congregation now home to the national archaeological museum, the oratory of San Filippo Neri and above all the beautiful and imposing church of Sant'Ignazio, whose profile characterizes the entire square. On the western and southern side there are ordinary buildings, while on the northern side there is a small group of trees under which there are the gazebos of some Middle Eastern restaurants (which however also serve pizzerias and local cuisine). But places with their terraces are also found on the western and southern sides, which further reduce the free space of the square, which still appears pedestrianized (or perhaps with limited traffic). Very quiet during the day, because shops are rare and the places tend to come alive mostly in the evening and particularly on weekends. Apart from coming here to visit the museum or the church of Sant'Ignazio, or to eat, the square in my opinion offers no further ideas.

This is located close to the Massimo but in a quieter piazza. We had a calzone and the olivella pizza. Both were excellent. The local Bianca di Nera was excellent at 22 euros. Staff very friendly and efficient. Good value.

Just a few minutes walk from Piazza Giuseppe Verdi and Teatro Massimo , strolling either through Via Orlogio and/or Via Bara All'Olivella (Both pleasantly filled with cafes and restaurants especially in the evening) , you arrive onto to this lovely , calm , small but interesting Piazza Olivella . There you may enjoy the Archiologial Museum , the Oratorio and Chiesa Di S. Ignazio ( See separate reviews) , and also a few cafe/restaurants .

Hidden among the side streets of Via Maqueda is perfect for an aperitif and dinner among the thousand lights of the clubs overlooking the square
