    A unique art experience
This must be one of the most unique art experiences in Europe. A huge range of art, architecture and objets d'art, from different periods and places. The environment is gorgeous. The atmosphere calm and grand without being imposing. The building is so beautiful And both restaurants are a must for great locally sourced sicilian cuisine.

One of the most amazing and beautiful art collections I think that I have ever visited. Such a beautiful building which has been tastefully renovated, beautiful courtyards, a wonderful cafe and an amazing and eclectic collection. Loved it. Unmissable.

Amazining contemporary art museum in an renovated palazzo
Art museum made in a renovated palazzo. Very interesting concept from all points of view - as architecture renovation they received several prizes (for good reasons) and as a museum it is interesting how they mingled contemporary art with older objects. Highly recommended!

This should be right up there in top ten things to do in Palermo. A highly personal and eclectic collection of superb or at least surprising works from the 17th century to contemporary, not mostly Sicilian, funded and stocked by a super wealthy Northern Italian family . The building itself is an unexpected miracle, a vast, recently restored palazzo ( how this happened is a fascinating story in its own right) converted into a modern museum mixed with retained structures and fixtures, room after room of exhibits with no necessary connection or theme, you never know what will be next and there a few created surprises of its own like a bridge that leads to a photo gallery in a dead end. Plus a fancy restaurant and a spacious terrace overlooking the bay.

Nowadays, it is rare to find such an eclectic collection, of such remarkable quality, covering more than 21 centuries of history. The palace itself is a work of art, with absolutely fabulous restoration work. Palermo is a city full of history that is worth visiting, and Palazzo Butera is without a doubt one of the best reasons to book your trip.

Beautiful, collection with both old and new art wonderfully put together. The restoration is so well done and they have captured it so well, very fascinating. The cafe/restaurant is also brilliant and the flowers that surround the courtyard are stunning.

We founds this unusual collection quite by accident- it is just down the block from our apartment. What a find- the palazzo is exquisite and the collection is extensive, wide ranging (with a few concentrations) and curated beautifully. Definitely worth a visit!

This place is a hidden gem. A historic palazzo fully refurbished. An extensive art collection including many modern pieces but also historical work, objects d'arte, and furniture. Beautifully displayed. A nice rooftop cafe with a big view. It would be a great attraction even in more famous art cities like Paris or Munich, but here it is in Palermo. Don't miss it if you like art.

A crazy mix of old and new. It was fascinating to see the modern art juxtaposed with the old. The curators have done a brilliant job creating a dialogue between old and new. The palazzo has been completely restored since the current owners bought it in 2016. They have documented every step of the remodel. Many rooms have videos showing the process. It is interesting to see how dilapidated it was and the state they have brought it to now. We ate at the restaurant on site on Easter Sunday and there were many Sicilian families there for lunch.
