Having visited the Aeolian and Egadi islands, Ustica proved disappointing. I knew it had no sandy beaches, but every access point into the beautiful sea comes with the risk of cutting your feet on sharp volcanic rocks. Surrounded by stunning transparent water but difficult to...More

a quit island, a real dream destination, a little island near Palermo to visit in a half hour with the boat; visit the village, and ideal for snorkeling.

We had a remarkable day trip taking the Ferry for Ustica from Palermo Harbour. The island retains its charm and history with a gorgeous rocky landscape. Excavations have dated settlements here for hundreds of years, while the current population is just over 1300. This tiny...More

This "another" is not intended as a put-down: this is a wonderful little island, where I wanted to return ever since a fleeting visit years ago. This spring, before the tourist season started, I managed to spend three memorable weeks there. I enjoyed every minute...More

If I were a famous writer, I'd come here and write my master piece in the sacred and relaxing quiet of Ustica. Maybe the beautiful mediterranean sea and the walks and the food and the sun and the friendly people would keep me from writing,...More

This little slice of heaven, just an hoir and a half from Palermo harbour by the high speed passenger only boat, is quite superb for a relaxing and utterly refreshing break for those who like to walk, cycle, snorkel, dive or just sit on some...More

Did 2 hours boat tour with Pepe (Giuseppe, mentioned in an earlier review). It cost €54 for 2 pax and 2 snorkeling gears. Not that cheap but we thoroughly enjoyed it. We went to check out 6 caves in total, did 2 snorkellings, even saw...More

A single day is not enough to visit the island of Ustica. The hydrofoil takes us 1 hour and 30 minutes from Palermo and then there is also the return. It would be better to visit the monuments and beauties of Palermo. All... More

i think it would be easier to hire a vespa or two no need for a car really and truly great small van taxi service running from 7.00am - 9.30pm to connect you in this small 2 road island!
