This was my first experience with a bath house and I was not disappointed! My skin was so soft for days! I came across it in the Lonely Planet's guide for Sicily and was thrilled to find it. I just received the basic bath house service but would recommend also trying some of the other services (time did not allow... More

We visited the Palermo hammam on couples day (Thursday). It was our first ever hammam experience. We were advised to give it up to two hours but in the event we were just over three and no-one hurried us at all. Changing separately we were escorted to the steam room for a gentle massage in oil on hot tiles, followed... More

Found this gem of a place on my first day in Palermo. Walked in to inquire about services and process. Very helpful lady was able to schedule massage and bath in the early afternoon. I was so relaxed and refreshed by the entire process. All the staff was helpful and very welcoming.

Such a relaxing experience. Lovely place, friendly staff that put up with our (very) poor Italian. Got given basically a small rectangle of fabric on a string to cover the necessary, then had a massage (did need to book in advance). The on to the Hammam. Was guided through the sequence of washes, soaps, saunas, scrubs and the tea and... More

Really loved the hammam. Beautiful and very relaxing. And the staff were wonderful. I'll definitely return when I visit Palermo next. Had an excellent massage and the mint tea was perfect after the steamy heat of the hammam. Highly recommended.

Palermo Hammam is located in Via Torrearsa, two streets past the Politeama Palace Hotel. It is open Monday (pm), Wednesday and Friday for Ladies and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for Men. I must admit I wasn't expecting much architecture-wise from a modern building - but I was wrong. It has been beautifully designed and many features are styled on Turkish... More
