This is the perfect place for Archeology lovers but the collection is perhaps too large for us, common folks! To see in its entirety is a somewhat tiring... In my view, they should perhaps reduce the number of pieces exposed and provide a better historic...More

If you're really into your Roman artefacts then you must come here. They have so much stuff that you need a good couple of hours here, but it's worth it. There is a nice garden too and you're very close to the Madonna Della Lacrime...More

A 20 minute walk from Ortigia, this museum had tons of relics from the Siracusa region dating back to 500 BC. The highlight was an exceptional collection if coins from that era and area.

A wonderful museum, but you should ideally select what you would like to see in advance, as there is so many fascinating exhibits from so many different sources.

This was one of the best things to see in Siracusa if you enjoy history and archaeology. Really an incredible collection, finely displayed. This is a don not miss!

The collection is extensive and laid out in a clear chronological order but there is very little attempt to offer context or interpretation for the layman and certainly not in anything other than Italian. Shame as it would provide a good follow up to a...More

Perhaps I was expecting too much from this museum - but having visited some wonderful ones in Greece and other parts of Italy, this one seemed less inspiring with a narrower range of exhibits. The ubiquitous necropoli that surround Syracuse and fill the Sicilian countryside...More
