The view of Mount Etna and the sea beyond is absolutely superb at Taormina's 10,000-seat ancient Greek amphitheater, which was erected in the third century BC and expanded by the Romans.

Very impressive greek/roman theatre, all the signage and information is in english as well as italian. Tickets were 10 euro. Would have loved it to be a bit clearer to get a decent view of Mount Etna through the archways of the theatre. We did...More

Glorious views over Taormina towards Etna from the theatre. A very impressive site but as mentioned before perhaps short on information boards. We had a guide book from our hotel which gave us the historical information we needed so were perhaps luckier than some. The...More

Not in the best condition and a bit crowded but the view down to the bay and across to Etna is probably the best of any Greek theatre.

While I’ve seen quite a few better theatres, the location makes it a top attraction. It is pleasant to walk around and has been restored sufficiently for the staging of events. Quite a bit of information is given in English - a bonus for us....More

Very well preserved, gorgeous views over the city and the sea, I suggest a visit in the afternoon in order to get the best light for pictures.

We sat and tried to imagine what this theatre must have been like in all of its original glory (and then realised that there is a video inside one of the chambers that actually recreates this vision!) This really is a must see if visiting...More

Walking around seeing the well-kept ruins of the Roman theater in Taormina is enhanced by renting the audio tour. You can use your own headphones. Then you will hear all about the theater-how and when it was built, what it was used for, how it...More

I'm sorry. I don't know the time. I'm sure if you go on their website you can find that. Also get the closing time. We went the first day near to their closing time and had to return the following day.
