I arrived in Florence and the thing I most wanted to see was the Cinque Terre. I arrived at the train station at 6:45 as instructed. No one from CAF Florence ever came! I called their phone--no answer. I called Get Your Guide who also called them and said they got no answer. They told me I would be issued... More

We did the tour as a family of 4 on 4th April. I purchased our voucher online direct with CAF. I chose this tour as a taster for the towns in the Tuscany region. The meeting point we were given was easy to find, however due to rail works, access for the bus was not possible. We had to walk... More

Liked the half day trip to Pisa. Finally we checked one of the wonders of the world. The guides were good and entertaining. Managed the whole group well.

The tour included many of the major attractions and combined a walking and coach tour for 6.45hrs including a 2 hour lunch break. We viewed just the exterior of the Duomo complex, Palazzo Vecchio and Santa Croce but the interiors of the Accademia and Uffizi. The coach took us to the viewpoint of Palazzo Michelangelo and after lunch to the... More

This COULD have been an amazing tour. Unfortunately, Caf tours overlooked the importance of smooth logistics and travelers' comfort when "organizing" this tour. From the very beginning, communication was unclear, as irrelevant facts were shouted at us, yet actual pertinent logistical information was not shared. The sheer size of the group (I'm guessing at least 150 people per bus x2)... More

Elisa Martelli expertly guided us through The Accademia on a 2 hour tour with CAF Tours. She was an excellent guide and we highly recommend this tour. Elisa is very knowledgeable on the artwork within the gallery; it is obvious she is passionate about her job.

My husband and I opted to join a one day tour to Cinqueterre instead of staying there for 2 nights. This is the right thing to do on your first trip to CInqueterre as it gives one a birds eye view of what the 5 Terre is all about. The air-conditioned bus was comfortable during the 2 hour drive to... More

This is a well organized tour given the towns and things that it covers during the 11-12 hours. We had a 8 year kid and the schedule worked very well. This is a compressed tour but overall it provided about the right time at each stop (Siena, San Gimignano, Grieve @ Chianti) to venture around the place as well as... More

We decided to do a cooking class for my wife and Adult children. I am not much of a cook and did not know what to expect. It was fun, the food was good and the people were all great. Price was reasonable considering you get dinner included, along with wine. Highly recommend

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
