About
This unique Florentine piazza is the center of the artisan quarter. Dominated by the last masterpiece of Brunelleschi, the Basilica of Santo Spirito, the square is home to little local markets and antique fairs.

We was so impressed, really felt we were apart of the locals, quiet, tiny, little streets, I can't wait to go back. I love it there. I went to Mass at the church 2 or 3 times, but the caretaker wouldn't let us stay, he...More

Great place to sit back and people watch. Generally, very few tourists hang around here, so you get a real sense of the city here particularly at night.

This is the "Bohemian" part of town where artists, students, and locals congregate to sing, dance, hang out.

We visited the Santo Spirito church and piazza during a recent trip to Florence while seeing attractions in the Oltrarno section of the city. We quite liked the streets leading into this area as well as the square itself, which had much more of a...More

When I lived in florence, this piazza was my favorite, always full of life at all times of the day. Still 8 years later on a return trip, it has the same life. We happened to be there on the once a month organice farmers...More

Square beautiful and welcoming. The church that stands in the square is pretty much like all the surrounding buildings.

Located just two blocks off Palazzo Pitti, this is a great place to take a break in one of the restaurants (Borgo Antico) and visit the Spirito Santo church. On Sundays, a local fair is held there; amongst junk, one can find interesting artifacts.

I remember this as being THE place to be to chill out in Florence. I studied economia e commercio at the university. We would spend sundays chilling out at the local cafes having breakfast and pretending to be artists! The vibe is amazing. Evenings would...More

I guess you are referring to the Basilica di Santo Spirito. The Basilica has intermittent tourist opening times and when we visited in May these were 9.30AM till 12.30PM and 4.00PM to 5.30PM but these are not always adhered... More

Santa Spirito is not far from the main areas. At Santa Spirito you can find a good mix of locals and tourists. There are great restaurants over there. On certain days there is also a market. We loved the atmosphere there.
