I loved Florence. Small town with big on sights to see. From the gelato to the wine is the best. Dinner in the town starts at 8:00 so good idea to have a late lunch.

This was an excellent tour. Transported by minibus to starting point 20 mins outside Florence centre, we received quick resume of tour etc and practice on a Vespa in car park and we were off! Two guides (4 participants) we drove through Tuscan countryside, stopping at a Chianti village for coffee break then onto winery for a tour (no tasting... More

We went on the Market Tour and Cooking Class with chef Davide, and I have written a review on that excellent course in another article. At the end of the class, we received a certificate and a card that is good for 50% off another FlorenceTown tour. To me, this indicates a high level of professionalism and a company that... More

The 6 hour Tuscany wine tour was fantastic. Our guide Matteo was so knowledgeable and so nice. We learned a great deal about the region and the different wines. The people at each vineyard were so welcoming! The lunch to end the event was amazing. First it was an olive oil tasting, but then a full lunch with an abundance... More

We made pizza and Gelato with a small group. Giuseppe was the pizza chef and Martina the leader for Gelato. They are both very friendly and helpful. I thought I knew how to make pizza already but Giuseppe thought me some new tricks. The pizza we made was fabulous. Each person makes their own personal size pizza. I had never... More

My wife and I absolutely loved this tour. Our guide Eleonora was very knowledgeable about the artwork in the museum and the history of Florence. Her perfect mix of serious information and lighthearted humour made the tour a joy to be part of.

If you have to choose Italian cities to visit, do not miss Florence! Although it is very busy in some parts you always get a piazza that is peaceful and relaxing. The architecture is stunning, just stroll and get lost and you will always end up at a beautiful or spectacular site. Decide beforehand what you want to see and... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
