My wife and I recently visited Florence with 3 of our children and went to a cooking class with Lavinia as our guide. The tour was fabulous from beginning to end. A great walk through Florence market, some history about the approach to using fresh and organic ingredients topped off by the actual cooking class. The chef's were enthusiastic and... More

Where to start?! It hard to review an excursion like this, because I want to keep it my little secret all to myself! Make sure you're ready for a full day of great food, sights and experiences. They say the tour is 7 hours.... make that an Italian 7 hours. There is a chance it could take upwards to 9!... More

We had limited time in Florence and wanted to see a bit of Tuscany and surrounds. The Best of Tuscany Tour was a great way to do it. The winery lunch was fantastic and being able to nap between towns was great! Our guide Cecilia was lovely and had so much knowledge about the area and the history. You can... More

What an incredible company! If you only have a short time in Florence, make sure you check out all these people have to offer. Our trek along the coast and through breathtaking scenery with Martina, WOW! Be sure and take good hiking shoes and a good camera. Walkabout Florence made it easy and fun.

My sister and I took a cooking class with Walkabout Tours and it exceeded our expectations. It starts at 10 am and goes until about 6 pm. Don't plan to eat dinner that night as you end up eating all day. You start at their office and do a 1.5 hour walk through Florence to pick up tomatoes, fresh bread,... More

We had a fabulous day having fun learning to cook a whole variety of Tuscan dishes with Carmella our chef and Gloria our guide. First off we enjoyed a relaxed walk through old Florence which was historically fascinating as well as learning about customs of the Fiorentini. With Gloria (perfect English speaker) we chose different types of tomatoes, bread, meat... More

We took a all day Tuscany tour on thanksgiving day with Walkabout tours and it was the best decision we took. The tour is very well organized. The bus was a luxury coach. We were checking in on time and the bus left Florence at 8.30 am with a fabulous guide who gave adequate information all through the 10 hour... More

Don't even think twice. Book this tour. My wife and I did this trip today 12/5/16. Our awesome guide and bus driver, I hope I have their names right, were Olivia and Mauricio. Olivia was extremely knowledgeable and kind. Mauricio has talent like no other and we were lucky to have such a fine driver. It's no easy task to... More

These 3 days were the highlight of our 2 weeks in Florence! We booked the cooking class and Cinque Terre Trek prior to our arrival in Florence based on the glowing reviews we read on here...then after the cooking class, we said, "What else can we book?!" So we immediately booked the Best of Tuscany tour! I can't tell you... More

Hello adventurer, don´t miss this incredible place called cinque terre. I take part at a Cinque Terre Hiking Day Trip starting from Florence. It was a great experience. The trip was organized well -so it was very comfortable to go from one place to another. Our guide Francesco was very friendly and helpful. The hiking part and the free time... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
