Lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. Take in the beautiful surroundings and architecture. If you sit on a cafe chair expect to pay a higher price for a drink or an ice cream than you would in the back streets.

The weather was very hot (40C) and we decided that walking up the Duomo wasn't a sensible idea. Walking around the outside was just as impressive. It was very busy and there were a lot of beggars. The bars on the outside were good but...More

The square is bustling with people from all over the world and it has a true multi cultural feeling to it. The Duomo itself is a breathtaking building. Well worth a visit.

Hands down the most beautiful sight I've ever seen. There's beggars in every populated area, so I guess that's why I didn't notice them. The police keeps a large amount of them away. It was nice to sit at a cafe to the south side...More

It is a very crowded place - come early to see the Duomo and the square when less crowded. The Duomo is an incredible building and you can spend a lot of time looking at the Duomo (of course, watch out for pick pockets)

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by

The historic center is characterized by the immensity

brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
