We took a walking tour from Santa Maria Novella station in Florence to Piazza del Duomo and Piazza della Signoria. This place offers great sights and has lovely and hugely popular architecture.

This is a wonderful area and the gathering point of many locals and tourists. There is always something going on here, day or night. Fantastic architecture. Great for people watching.

A visit to the Piazza del Duomo is a must. It is a free of charge activity that allows you to drink in the majesty of the Duomo and see the exterior of the Baptistry site where many believe the Renaissance began in 1401. I...More

Beautiful, historical, stunning. The baptistry was my favorite- it felt more laid-back than the cathedral- but the floor in the cathedral is stunning. Just stunning!

Such a great decision to make this an auto free area. Great for people watching and beautiful exterior views of the Duomo and Baptistry. Sort of overrun by tourist knick knack sellers, but that is to be expected. Crazy crowded. But must see. And really...More

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city

You can visit it any time of the day. The restaurants in the piazza are open till late and you can always walk down the nearby roads and find lots of stalls for road side shopping.
