A magnificent and awe inspiring building. A guided tour is a must which should incorporate the museum del opera too as it shows how the duomo was built and some of the original statues, doors and plans are inside. Also although quite punishing the walk...More

Amazing to discover the 3 different eras of this place with the underground part Also the climb to top of dome requires advance purchase of tickets That is a very long climb of steps

Despite the incredible amount of tourists around the Duomo buildings, they remain the most impressive displays of architecture in Florence. Be aware that the queues get seriously long to enter the Duomo so arrive early for opening. However, it's just as impressive to see the...More

Magnificent Duomo but long lines to get you ticket. Also watch out for the scams who will offer you 'limited tickets'. They are fake even tho they look like they work for the Duomo. Just go to the ticket office. It's 15 euro pp

Whether you climb the tower or just see the magnificent building from outside, the architecture, the details, the scope of Duomot will simply blow you away. The 15 Euro admission will cover the whole complex but if your knees are not upto it, its best...More

Absolutely stunning site. Well worth queuing up for, you need tickets for the dome and the baptisry, but to just visit the duomo is free.

I highly recommend adding the climb to the Duomo to your itinerary while in Florence. The views are well worth the hike up 463 steps. Please note this is not for the faint of heart as some steps are steep and spiral. You will need...More

When you come upon the Duomo it doesn't look real until you get close and inspect it. The architecture is stunning and overwhelming. The square around it is surrounded by markets and people. Lovely place to sit drink your cappuccino and people watch.

The cathedral was a beautiful and religious place and worth a visit. The ruins under the cathedral was very interesting but you need a ticket

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city

the entrance is at the front of the church opposite the Baptistry, the queue was down the left hand side but we only queued for a few minutes, we never saw a Mass so not sure if it's held in another chapel, it is well worth... More

Hi Getting tickets was easy. However session times can be difficult. We needed to book at least one day ahead which worked for us as we had a few days in Florence. The walk up the duomo was worth it. Hope this helps Helen
