This is not the most organized site you'll go to. We arrived at about the same time as a couple of the ubiquitous school groups that seem to be everywhere these days. Once inside we were in a room with several displays but no signage of how to get to the Medici chapel. We finally ventured upstairs and came into... More

Be sure the visit inside the Cappelle (closed on Sundays) To see the amazing works of art inside. The place is like a shrine of art. the outside does not give away anything from what's waiting inside.

What a treasure. This is a real show of what the rich and powerful could achieve in history. The art work is fabulous but make sure you go into all of the side rooms to make the most of your visit. The reliquary behind the alternative was amazing. The detail of the marble and stone work in this chapel is... More

We had an hour to kill so thought we would go to this Chapel since someone wrote that it was free. Well that's a lie, it was 8Euro a person which was not worth it. The only thing we liked was the big dome with the different colored marbles but that was under construction and most of the statutes had... More

This is a small chapel, but it is beautiful and worth seeing. The Medici family were very important in Florence and this gives a sample of this importance.

Free to visit, but be prepared to queue to get through the security, even in wintertime. The beautiful green and pink marble interior attests to the great power and wealth of the Medici family, and the superb sculptures speak of their patronage of many of the world's great Masters, architects, and craftsmen. The three major Michelangelo pieces are awesome! Definitely... More

This chapel is a stunning work of art. The stonework is simply stunning. It's a beautiful way to experience some of the grandeur of medieval Florence without quite so many crowds

Such a wonderful place to visit - especially on a rainy day as it was for us. The history is incredible what this family did - the Michangelo sculptures are such a contrast to the upper tombs. For the list

I had wanted to visit to see the tombs carved by Michelangelo and was also impressed by the other Medici tombs. Very beautiful and opulent!
