This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

It’s a bit of a hike up to the top of the hill, over 100 steps, but definitely worth it, for the view at the top, from where you can see over the whole town.

Beautiful views over the city. Uphill walk to get there from the river Arno but worth it especially on a clear day.

My mate and I walked here from our hotel, which was about 25 minutes away. The Piazzale is easily spotted from most places in Florence: just look to the south and UP. There was transitional weather when we were in Florence and it was beautiful...More

Beautiful, panoramic view of Florence! On a good weather day you will be able to spot the mountains and all the little hills surrounding the city. Worth the hike - expect stairs and walking up the hill to get there.

I climbed so many towers to get a full view of the city. However, nothing is like this place. I am amazed by seeing all the florence under my feet.

Not for the faint of heart! It was a steep hike up to the top but the view was worth it. We saw some people with wine to enjoy during sunset.

We walked from the Duomo area to Ponte Vicchio to Piazzale Michelangelo. Lots of steps. I would encourage you to walk past, taking a hike up the hills to wander up to the Church of San Salvador al Monte and by the Botanical Gardens. It’s...More
