This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

If you go on foot - I walked from the St. Regis hotel - it is a hike. Just a walk, until you get to the steps, and then, it is a HIKE. You can also take a taxi, but where's the fun in that?

We ate the restaurant on our last night in Florence with our two teen daughters. It was a lovely night with music and good food.

A friend recommended this place. To go up was a little exasting but the view over the city was worth it. You can see the duomo from up there. It's better to bring your own drinks/food to this place because it's very expensive up here.

We were dropped off during a bus tour. The view is amazing and the statue is worth the stop to take picture of . Make sure to take some sort of transportation because it is a long walk from the center of Florence.

This is definitely the place to go if you want to capture the city of Florence. Go at sunset, the river glows with the reflections of its palaces and magnificent historic buildings onto the Arno river.

Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale
Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by
wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens
up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic
viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an
elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and
breathtaking view of the entire city from above.
