Paul Costa was engaging and interesting every minute of our 4 hour tour of Florence. Our 3 teenage kids loved the tour as much as we did and talked about it for days afterwards. I booked him based on these reviews and it was the best decision I made with regard to our trip. Other reviews here are spot on... More

Paul Costa was the best tour guide we had in our two week trip to Italy. He brings the tour to life from the minute it starts. My two teenagers were half asleep when we started, but woke up quickly when Paul started asking them history questions. His interactive tour brings Florence to life....he literally brings you back in history... More

Paul Costa is a phenomenal tour guide! I loved his Florence and David tour so much that I booked him again when my family came to visit in June. Paul has a way of bringing all the little bits of history you vaguely remember from 9th grade world history (the Middle Ages, the plague, the Renaissance) and putting it all... More

Our party of seven relished our well crafted private tour of Florence and the David. Six of our party had been to Florence previously, but had never seen the city through the eyes of Paul. He is informative and engaging. He tests for understanding and adjusts his itinerary based upon his interaction with the group. His tour begins with an... More

Our family included 3 seniors, 3 adults and 1 child. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and Paul taught us so many interesting stories about the history of Florence and the art.

Do not miss a walking tour of Florence with Paul Costa. Not the run-of-the-mill buildings, architects and dates, Paul immerses you in the tenor of the periods during which Florence developed. He engages his clients by asking them the questions, instead of the usual other way around, to get them thinking about the hows, whys and wherefores. You will learn... More

Our tour with Paul Costa was a highlight of our trip to Italy and the best tour we took during our vacation. Paul has a way of teaching you about the history of Florence and art by asking questions and engaging your mind. He is friendly, energetic and professional and brought meaning to what we were seeing. Any visit to... More

Our Florence experience would not have been nearly as meaningful or memorable if it wasn't for Paul Costa. He is absolutely 100% worth the money. He took us all over Florence and I think I learned more with him in 5 minutes than I did the rest of my 2 week stay in Europe.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
