Chef Laura provided an incredible experience! We spent the morning with one other family preparing delicious local recipes. The opportunity to learn how to make homemade pasta and tiramisu was the highlight of our Italian holiday for my boys (12 & 15.) Chef Laura is both a talented chef and excellent teacher. I HIGHLY recommend joining Chef Laura for a cooking experience if you are in Florence!

Thank you, Laura, for a fun and memorable cooking class with you. My husband and I loved the fresh ingredients and hearing about the influence of your grandmother's cooking for your inspiration. Your passion for cooking is evident and you were patient while we learned how to make tiramisu, bruschetta, and pasta. We will make attempts to replicate the wonderful meal and would absolutely come back for another class with you. It was a bonus to meet your daughter and wish her well in her studies!

Can’t say enough good things about Laura the owner and Chef Antonio for a wonderful authentic cooking experience. We started in the market and picked out all the ingredients that we wanted to use for our meal. We prepared and Anti Pasti, Primi, Main and a Tiramisu to cap off the meal.

From making our pasta and learning about authentic Tuscan cuisine, my wife had such a memorable moment.

Can’t thank the both of them enough. I would highly recommend Cooking in Florence when you visit.

Cooking with Laura was the highlight of our vacation in Florence! There were 8 of us, some are more experienced in the kitchen than others! Everyone enjoyed learning how to cook an authentic Italian meal. Laura took us through the local market to select fresh food items and off we went to try it out! Laura is kind, professional and fun. We enjoyed learning how to make bruschetta, a traditional chicken dish, pasta and Tiramisu. Laura brought out the chef in all of us! Thank you Laura for making such a memorable experience!

My husband and I visited Italy last year and had the pleasure of spending an afternoon cooking, laughing, and learning with Laura of Cooking in Florence. Laura met us at the local farmers market where we discussed our favorite meals and ingredients, and chose seasonal produce to create our meal. We then walked to her beautiful kitchen where we enjoyed a glass of wine and began too cook! We started with learning to make a simple yet delicious bread, followed by cooking whole artichokes in a tomato sauce, then learned to make our own pasta for an outrageously delicious carbonara, and finished it all off with a decadent chocolate lava cake. We enjoyed our afternoon with Laura so much that we lost track of time and realized we would be late for our tickets to see the David. Laura kindly called ahead to the museum and explained the situation, safely securing our spot! Our time with Laura was one of the highlights of our trip to Florence and one who hope to repeat on our next trip.

My husband and I visited Florence for a couple days on an anniversary trip. We both appreciate good food so when a private cooking class with Cooking in Florence was recommended, we signed up. The space is beautiful...very artful and tasteful in decor. Laura (the boss) and her partner, Gianluca (the gypsy chef) make you feel right at home. They are perfectly in sync with each other and their clients playing American rock and pop while serving us coffee and delicious red wine. We laughed, we learned, we tasted, we inhaled amazing aromas and then they set up a beautiful table for us and we feasted on what we created. They do groups, individuals, parties, events...they are an amazing pair with so much knowledge and instincts for their craft. Their passion and joy was contagious and our time together was worth every penny.

Last evening, my wife and I with two traveling companions, spent a few hours with Alessandro at Cooking in Florence. The studio is nicely located near the Arno on Via Ghibellina near the Ponte San Niccolò. The interior is inviting, featuring a crisp, modern design including wonderful light, color, and furnishings. The kitchen has ample space for a larger group to learn, but still felt intimate for the four of us. Alessandro had selected a wonderful menu of regional traditions, including a lovely salad, followed by a dish of tagliatelle, a superb roll of chicken, ground beef, mortadella, squash flowers, and pecorino. The meal ended with a fantastic rustic pastry filled with fresh Sangiovese grapes laced with minced rosemary. We made the pasta by hand in the traditional manner, we pared all of the vegetables for the salad and sauce, we pounded, stuffed, rolled and tied the chicken for pan searing, and had a wonderful time eating all of it served with style by our wonderful teacher, Alessandro! Having had more than one such experience, I can tell you that it doesn’t get better! At €110 per person for three or more hours, it’s a bargain, and remember, you have to eat somewhere anyway! The meal you will have with wine at Cooking in Florence is as good as you’ll find at a local ristorante, and, with that amount of wine and number of courses, would easily cost more than €110 per person. That makes Alessandro’s expert instruction free! Oh, and what fun it all Is! My highest recommendation.
