This was a walking food tour. We visited bakeries, sandwich shops, coffee shops and tasted the local foods. The highlight was visiting the huge Food Market that had baked goods, fruits, vegetables, pastas, fish, meats and more. We had a private tasting of cheese and meets, bread, wine, olive oil, vinegar, cantucci, a local almond biscuit with vin santo wine.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our walking food tour through Florence with Cristine as our guide. We tasted many delicious foods and beverages. All of the host locations were very gracious. The highlight was the visit to the San Lorenzo market.

We've done other food tours before - Quebec City, Edinburgh, Venice...this one by far was the most complete, giving us the real Florence food experience. From coffee to dessert, breads, olive oil/balsamic vinegar tastings...to wine and pasta...and to finish it of, gelato! Francesca was the best - professional, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and very friendly...answered all of our questions, knew all the... More

I booked this tour for my wife and I having read some other reviews. It was even better than we expected. Cristina was simply wonderful and her enthusiasm and knowledge were a delight. We shared the tour with ten other people, but Cristina always had time for all our questions. This is a great way of learning about real Italian... More

Highly recommend this tour. Angela was so very personable and enthusiastic. With only six in our group it made the experience even better. Great time discovering places and tastes we never would have found on our own.

I absolutely loved it! I gave this tour as a birthday present to my friend. Christina our tour guide was so lovely and she had a great knowledge not only about the local food and products but also the history of art and sights of the city. The food was of high quality and great taste, we enjoyed every minute.... More

Christina was our excellent tour guide on our first morning in Florence and we couldn't recommend the experience highly enough. The pace was relaxed but we fitted in a wide and delicious range of tastings; from excellent wine and coffee sampling to market stall pasta dishes, dainty truffle sandwiches and melt-in-your-mouth (literally!) gelato, we never knew what to expect next.... Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
