It's a beautiful church, and they even have an English Mass on Sunday morning! I thought it was worth stopping in. It is antique and really has its own character amidst so many grandiose attractions in Florence. It is operated by the Legionaries of Christ.

10:30 a.m. Sunday's English Mass with Father Scott Murphy is a great way to start one's Sunday. He is always friendly and inviting.

Tucked away in the small Piazza Del Limbo, only a short walk from the Ponte Vecchio, is the small Romanesque 11th century (?) church of Santi Apostoli. It's a small corner of serenity, undiscovered by the tourists who gather in throngs only blocks away. The cool, calm, peace of the Romanesque interior let you appreciate its treasures: the Della Robbia... More

This church looks small from the outside but goes back a long way inside. It is hard to find hidden down a narrow street but worth viewing.

A church in an ally that is not easy to find. But try to find it as it is worth it. One of the oldest churches in Florence, it has a good Della Robbia and a Vasari. Interestingly there is on display in the second altar on the left three flints from the Holy Sepulchre brought from Jerusalem during the... More

This chiesa, church very close to Ponte Vecchio in Firenze, Florence, is sooo old and soooo tiny and at the same time picturesque with so much old Italian art to watch in the candle-lit atmosphere, especially the wooden ceiling still preserved and the surroundings of very tiny square and closeness of Arno river...perfect for just relax, break or stop from... The Chiesa is a little hard to find, in the Piazza della Limbo, near the Ferragamo Museum. It's on a beautiful Borgo with some of the finest little alleys and vicolo in Florence. Very quiet, very peaceful. The church isn't open all the time so you should check hours. If it's open, you'll find one of the oldest churches in... More

This church is a small and simple example of Romanesque building. It dates back to the 11th century and shows what a church of that date or earlier would have looked like. It has a lovely decorated wood ceiling, and a niche by Renaissance artist Giovanni della Robbia. Near the Bargello and well worth a stop.

... at lease it was quiet and peaceful when i visited and studied SS Apostoli in 1968. Prof. Carolyn Valone (our extraordinary art history instructor) assigned this beautiful church as a study topic, and I was most impressed with the solid stone and lofty spirit of the ancient church. I have encouraged traveling friends to visit SS Apostoli and they... More
