Every time we are in Florence.... a sacred quiet place
Nov. 2019
Walking in the Borgo Santi Apostoli is a beautiful experience ... parallel to the Arno, walking between the Ponte Vecchio and Ponte Santa Trinita ... it's a neighborhood of narrow cobblestone streets, arches, brilliant shadows, and little shops that seem to serve the locals, not tourists. Before you get all the way to the fashionista shops on Via della Tournabuoni, you'll find the beautifully tiny Piazza del Limbo from a different time. And there in that small place is one of the oldest buildings in Florence -- this Romanesque church is quite compact and equally serene. A wonderful place to visit an ancient sacred place. We build memories of the church every time we are in Florence

A beautiful church in Florence
Dec. 2018 • Couples
As with all of Italy they know how to build beautiful churches and it may not be the grandest church in the world but it is still worth a visit.

A calming stop
Oct. 2018 • Couples
Do not miss this hidden gem on a small Piazza del Limbo. Built in the 11th century, Santi Apostoli is one of the oldest churches in Florence.
It is located near the Ponte Vecchio, but not much people enter Piazza del Limbo, small and charming by itself, rushing to more known attractions. Interior is simple and calm and there are some points not to be missed, from my point of view. Green marble columns with capitals from ancient Roman remains, interesting and richly decorated wooden ceiling, an amazing terracotta tabernacle on the left and a great work of Giorgio Vasari on the right (photos added). And there is much more to see…

English mass in Florence
May 2018 • Couples
We attended the English mass here on Ascension Sunday. It was lovely. There are many beautiful artworks in the 11th century church. We sat next to a large Vasari of the Blessed Virgin Mary which was astounding. There is also della Robbia and other masters there. The architecture is splendid.

Worth searching out
Sep. 2017 • Couples
This is a tiny church but well worth seeking out both for the glorious interior but also for the tiny square in which it is set. Crammed with history and art, just go!

Unique stop in Florence
Dec. 2016
It's a beautiful church, and they even have an English Mass on Sunday morning! I thought it was worth stopping in. It is antique and really has its own character amidst so many grandiose attractions in Florence. It is operated by the Legionaries of Christ.

English Mass
Nov. 2016
10:30 a.m. Sunday's English Mass with Father Scott Murphy is a great way to start one's Sunday. He is always friendly and inviting.

Small hidden gem
Aug. 2016 • Couples
Tucked away in the small Piazza Del Limbo, only a short walk from the Ponte Vecchio, is the small Romanesque 11th century (?) church of Santi Apostoli. It's a small corner of serenity, undiscovered by the tourists who gather in throngs only blocks away. The cool, calm, peace of the Romanesque interior let you appreciate its treasures: the Della Robbia tabernacle, Vasari's Immaculate Conception, the beautiful polyptych behind the altar... well worth at least a half-hour visit.

The Chiesa del Santi Apostoli is a small, old and lovely Church n Piazza del Limbo in Firenze. It has some interesting art work on the inside and is a really quiet and peaceful Church.

VERY SMALL CHURCH BUT GOES BACK A LONG WAY INSIDE
Feb. 2016
This church looks small from the outside but goes back a long way inside. It is hard to find hidden down a narrow street but worth viewing.
