Acclaimed since 1996 for our great guides and tours, we offer the original, small-group Best of Tuscany tour, as well as wonderful guided tours of Florence, Venice, Rome and the Cinque Terre. Our tours are high-quality, entertaining, informative and fun! We love sharing Italy on a more personal level and with our small group sizes, we refuse to make you feel like a tourist. Our highly-qualified guides are passionate, have a sense of humour and enjoy bringing history to life. They include historians, aristocrats, wine makers, art sleuths, well-known journalists, guide writers, as well as talented artists and authors. What’s more, we are an ASTA approved, fully-licensed tour operator. We promise we are anything but ordinary, and we guarantee we are the Original & Best.

Can't say enough nice things about our two guides on private tours of Florence and of the Uffizi Museum. Both were extremely knowledgeable on anything we asked and both were very fun and friendly. The company definitely deserves their high ratings on Trip Advisor.

We just went on a tour to see The David in Florence and our tour guide, Angelo, was BY FAR the best tour guide we have ever had - anywhere! His passion for what he was teaching us was so apparent. He stories were brought to life with his passion, animation, knowledge and detail in everything he said. I learned... More

I wanted to do this over the two days but had planned my short trip to include Monday when the Academia was closed! This was the only downside because the 3 tours, Walking around Florence The Uffizi highlights and the Academia tour were well worth the effort of a long day. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and as we were only... More

We took three tours with Artviva and are glad we did. Our guides were amazing! Tatiana and Loredana were awesome. I mean truly awesome. Great personalities and extremely knowledgeable. I wish I could have taken them on the rest of my tour of Italy. They would have been not only fun to travel with but would have been like a... More

I took advantage of three Artviva tours while I was in Firenze for a long weekend. Both guides were delightful, knowledgable, great storytellers and passionate about their work and their love of Firenze. Angelo guided my small group through the Uffizi as well as L'Accademia for the second tour. I'm still impressed thinking about how Angelo presented and introduced our... More

Our walking tour was filled with fun and education. I was intrigued by our guide Hilda's storytelling of the history of the Medici Family. What I learned from reading prior to the trip was enhanced by her own knowledge. Having been on many walking tours, Hilda was a guide that actually loved doing her job and adapted to each persons... Definitely a highlight of my week-long trip through Italy. We did 3 tours with Artviva--the walking tour through the city, the Uffizi Gallery, and David--and they were all spectacular. The guides, Klass and Molly(?), were incredibly personable and knowledgeable, and their enthusiasm made the trips so much fun. I also enjoyed the small group size of our tours.

The cost for this tour was very reasonable, considering the small tour size and the expertise of the guide. I have been to the L'Accademia and the Uffizi many times alone and with other tours, but I learned so much more this time by going with this tour group.

The tour I attended was lead by Tatiana, she was engaging, enthusiastic, informative and well-paced. I really enjoyed the tour and learnt a lot, Tatiana was open to questions and was well informed about the painting. All in all worthwhile and recommended.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
