Acclaimed since 1996 for our great guides and tours, we offer the original, small-group Best of Tuscany tour, as well as wonderful guided tours of Florence, Venice, Rome and the Cinque Terre. Our tours are high-quality, entertaining, informative and fun! We love sharing Italy on a more personal level and with our small group sizes, we refuse to make you feel like a tourist. Our highly-qualified guides are passionate, have a sense of humour and enjoy bringing history to life. They include historians, aristocrats, wine makers, art sleuths, well-known journalists, guide writers, as well as talented artists and authors. What’s more, we are an ASTA approved, fully-licensed tour operator. We promise we are anything but ordinary, and we guarantee we are the Original & Best.

Walking tour

Really enjoyable walking tour, our guide Tatiana was incredibly knowledgeable and pointed out so many things that we would never have noticed. Very good value too.

Do yourself a favor and skip Artviva's cooking classes. Total tourist trap. I love to cook and one of the things I really wanted to do during our time traveling throughout Italy was learn how to cook some delicious and authentic Italian food. I turned to my trusted guide Rick Steves for a recommendation and in his newest edition of... More

We loved our tour with Tatjane learning the significance of the city sights. She shared interesting stories that made the history of Florence come alive. She was very knowledgeable, accessible for questions, made sure our listening devices were working properly and the group was together, no one left behind. A great tour.

We participated in the ArtViva Uffizi Gallery and Accademia David Tour. Both were very enjoyable! Neither myself or my wife are huge art buffs, but our great tour guide, Brenda, really explained the artwork in a way we could understand and delved into many details that we would not have noticed on our own. We had been on several tours... More

We did 3 Florence tours with ArtViva today, making for a REALLY LONG day. We did not realize they use short-range radio with earphones to communicate (as almost all tour groups do in Florence, due the huge number of groups intertwining). The earbuds supplies are the cheapie type like Apple provides. I find them very hard to hear from, or... More

I must say that Artviva was a wonderful way to experience all that Florence had to offer. We did the Florence in a day tour but broke it up into 2 days. All 3 of our guides were extremely knowledgeable and very interesting. We loved the tour of the Academia with Barbara who enthusiastically gave us lots of background info.... More

I took the Florence in One Glorious Day tour, which is actually three separate tours with breaks in between. It starts with a walk through Florence and some of its most historic sites, then after lunch tours of the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia, where Michelangelo's David resides. It took about eight or nine hours, but was a great way... More

My husband and I went on Artviva's Best of Tuscany tour at the end of March 2017. I would highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Florence and have time to see some of Tuscany. When we arrived at Artviva's office the morning of the tour, everything was well organized with little time spent in waiting to get started.... More

We had a 3 hour private Uffizi tour with the guide Hilda. Her English speaking was perfect. Her subject matter expertise was amazing. She began the tour even as we were walking from their office to the museum! Although we were exhausted by 16 hours of travel she was so interesting that we forgot about being tired for the entire... Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
