Authentic accommodations on a working farm just outside of Florence. We stayed in the Camino apartment which was perfect for me and my two daughters. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The shower was spacious and beautifully updated. A large sitting area and a functional kitchen gave us plenty of space to spread out. The views from the sitting area and main bedroom are stunning. The working farm provided us with lots of entertainment and the trekking trails were super fun to explore. The pool area is nice and features a lovely view over the valley. The on-site restaurant, Lo Spaccio, features uber local cuisine and is well worth a visit. Reservations required. There is a small market on-site, as well, where you can purchase produce, wine and coffee. Very close to Florence as well as multiple vineyards. Strongly recommend a car if you are staying at this property.

We went as three friends to see the farm as we are staying close by and one of our group had had lunch there the day before. We paid €7 each to walk around a pretty rundown rustic farm. We saw a few geese, donkeys and an Ostrich. We couldn't find the lake and the river. It turns out we went straight down the hill toward the animals and didn't via left. So we missed the whole lake etc and only saw the gardens as we struggled back up the hill. We just felt totally lost. We were three nationalities so you can't say it was typical English or whatever. Better or clearer signature would have helped.

The entrance fee should have been deducted from our restaurant bill as the farm didn't amount much. Entrance way over priced for what's there. Not a bad lunch. Home made Gnocchi with Rabbit Ragu £14.

Being told it is one of the largest farms in Italy, I can say the place is very nice. You can see some animals, geese, donkeys, Ostrich, hens, rabbits, Senese pigs. You need to walk a while so if you go with small kids, be prepared. One downside of this trip was the entrance fee, which I believe it is too expensive (Euro 7 per person) for just taking a walk around. I would have expected some kind of extra to be included in a price like that.

A favorite place, near Florence, for my wife and I. My wife and I have traveled to Florence many times and, every time, we have traveled to Fiesole to have lunch at Fattoria di Maiano. The food is great, prices are reasonable, beautiful sites (especially if you walk down from central Fiesole), great service, and friendly staff. All good. In addition, we always purchase tins of their amazing olive oil to bring home to family and friends.

This place came highly recommended by our local host to get a glimpse of Tuscany and to have a non-touristy experience in a beautiful place. I am so happy we took his advice.

Fattoria Di Maiano is an Olive Tree farm which is a private estate of old Tuscan royalty. It is located in Feisole which is around 5 miles from Florence and at a higher elevation so it overlooks the city of Florence. Imagine looking through olive trees and eventually settling you eyes on the the city i the distance.

There is more to Fattoria Di Maiano because it does have a some farm animals that you can see up close and they have woods that you can walk through in peace and quiet. Being a former quarry centuries ago, you will see remnants of the activity then and get taken back the days the old world.

For me and my wife, it was like being on the set of a movie situated in Tuscany, everything you've seen in the movies is practically there to be experienced first hand. No busy tourists with selfie sticks and a shopping bags - just breathtaking experience of the Tuscan countryside and a peek into how things were before.

I travel to Florence frequently and always find the time to come to Fattoria di Maiano - even if it is just to buy the amazing olive oil. If you have the time, tour the farm - many interesting things to see - including an old marble quarry. The quarry is not longer used so it filled with water to become a lovely, clean pond.

Just a lovely and unusual place to visit. The staff are helpful and friendly.

We were directed to this place by the concierge at the Four Seasons Firenze for their safari. The property is an official test course for Land Rover vehicles. We were a group of 5 - three adults and two 4-year old girls. The Defender was waiting for us when we arrived, already pre-treated with a nice mud mask, just the way it should be. Tomasso drove us around the property while explaining historic areas (the hill where Da Vinci tested his flying machine...on someone else), why the olive trees had cracked tree trunks, etc. We also went on parts of the Land Rover course (my kids were laughing because the puddle run was so much fun!) and to the farm where there were piglets, baby sheep, and the funkiest chickens I've ever seen. Then he brought us up on a hill so we could see the amazing view of Florence. The kids even got to pat a horse from the window of the Defender!

We had lunch in the restaurant after the tour (sampling menu was included but we ordered more food because we love eating).

This is such a great activity, specially since it's only a 15 minute cab ride from the city!
We'll be back when we visit Florence again.

If you’re tired of churches, museums, and the crowds in Florence, this oasis on the Fiesole hills, a 20-30’ taxi ride from the Duomo, is the place! The gigantic grounds were consolidated in the 19th century by an English gentleman, Sir Giovanni Temple Leader. Peaceful views over the city. It has a hotel with restaurant, a playground for children (lots of class outings during the school year), a tiny animal farm, an olive farm with olive oil mill. Mainly for walkers, as what’s to see doesn’t take long to admire, especially when it’s scorching hot. Very nice staff at reception.

This is a unique property! The views are spectacular - seriously breathtaking. The pool is stunning and immaculately clean with plenty of sun beds.
The accommodation is rustic and the "loggia" apartment did come with some challenges eg the plumbing pump in the second bedroom was extremely noisy and had an unpleasant odour when it was in use. However the space the apartment offers is ideal for 5 people and the staff are very friendly and helpful. You can enjoy lengthy walks that encompasses both the farm aspect and the historical structures of the Maiano property. We loved staying at this property. The only other negative about Loggia apartment is that it does not have a view of the valley - however you can find many lovely tables and chairs to sit outside and enjoy the Tuscan views.
